My Dad walked into Bayer Zürich and was able to take my 124270 with him right there and then. It seems like either the market is relaxing, or he was just a very nice gentleman to the sales rep that day 😂

Perhaps, but used prices have been falling for a while now. Stock is becoming much more available in store especially in Asia - no waiting on many models. In Europe the UK is about 50% of their sales and things are not going well here. A lot will depend on how the market in China moves forward and that is not looking solid.
Rolex will remain firmly mid-tier no doubt about that but hopefully will become much more accessible. They have announced increased production and have been hiring. Good news if you want a Rolex but bad if you own them for resale purposes. The fire sale has already started on the Tudor brand.
For the OP though, well done, you want one you got one - I am certainly not knocking that, just to be clear. Its one of the two models I would buy from them were Rolex my thing, the other being the polar exp II.
Explorers aren’t difficult to get. Try a sub, or worse, a Daytona. Congrats. I’ll be picking up an explorer 36 myself
