I started using my chronograph as a date function.

Haven’t found a need to use the chronograph yet lol but with how easy it is to set, I started using the chrono hand as a date function 👀 is this sacrilege?

You mean by advancing it everyday?

Yeah! 😂 so tomorrow I set it to the 7th second

Nothing highlights the absurdity of the watch community quite as well as this... Buy an expensive complication for timing things, use it to show the date... The most simple and cheap complication.

Ahaha I mean I look at it as two complications in one. 🤷🏻‍♂️ how often would you time things? When it’s not in use it can serve as a date 😉

·

Do as you please; I use my diver bezel to keep track of the date…

·

I love it. 😂😂😂

Sometimes I just let my Chrono spin for the hell of it.

I left mine on for hours once and forgot haha

That's true dedication...

The Pagani Speedmaster type chrono has a date window thanks to the Seiko VK63 movement so you don't have to play with it.

·

Fun idea 😄 Do you advance it one second a day, or reset and then count up to the date? Reminds me of filling gas on my car and trying to hit an exact amount in euros with 0 cents 😄

But I want to play with it •᷄ᴖ•᷅

Yeah haha since I wind it every morning I’ll move it one second 😂

This is crazy but I also kind of love it.

Honestly it adds one more function to any chronographs without a date and it’s subtle. lol I love it

If you do, you'll go blind!

·

Yes...it's sacrilege...

Great idea… it also justifies moving the Chrono hand out of the way to reveal the omega logo🤩

That was one of the reasons ! lol I wanted to see the logo.

·

I give you another trick when you are really ocd wait that the minute counter arrive to the current date. And stop the chronograph hand back at 12 o'clock. Aside you nobody will check that something changed on your chrono. 😜

I do that time to time. For 31 just use 1 and remember it.

I used to this on my GST also to see the logo😃🤝

Nonsense 😂😂😂

I have seen a short of a country singer that use it to time the duration of his live sets starting from 0.00... nothing bad to use a watch as a tool of you find something that it can do for you, IMHO

Agreed! They’re tools after all

·

Love it! Crazy, idiosyncratic and clever all at once! 🤪🤡🤓

How?

If today is the 10th, move the bezel so the 10 minute mark is directly above the 12 o’clock indicator. It’s easy to see days 1-15, 20, 25 and 30 due to the marks on the bezel.

·

I personally never thought of doing that but I do think it’s amusing! On the other hand I actually do use my chronograph for work/fun purposes. So this is not something I can do. This complication is my favorite since I do like knowing how long an event may take or whatever I feel like timing. But as long as you’re enjoying the watch I don’t see a problem! Have fun!

·

Nah, it’s fine. Chronographs can have other uses. I use my 1/100 dial on my Speedtimer to play spin the bottle 😂

·

I do this to tell the date as well as exposing the Omega logo that usually is covered up. Used to keep it at 14 seconds for a while too.

·

Or, you can just get it a brother for those days when you really want to know the date.

·

I prefer to get the date tattooed onto my hand just below the watch, then remove it each night with laser surgery

God forbid my dial be tainted with a date complication 😜

·

I think this is a neat idea.
