Please help me with my next purchase ๐Ÿ™

Over the past 2 years I have come a long way on my watch collecting journey. I have a 25ish watches highly-focused on affordable Swiss brands, micro-brands, and Casio G-Shocks. These watches have helped me learn my preferences and discover the aspects of a watch that speak to me. I love my collection including:

#hamilton

#longines

#seiko

#casio

#orient

#certina

#traska

#islander

#rze

#mrjoneswatches

#xeric

#studiounderd0g

#vaer

#vario

#jackmason

#vaymont

and others

Now I'm looking to take the next step in my collecting journey with my next watch purchase. I'm prepared to spend anywhere from $2K-$5K. There are so many watches that I'm interested in, but I've narrowed down the options to 4 very different watches, each of which I love for very different reasons. I thought about explaining all the reasons for each watch in the main post, but I've decided to reserve that discussion for the comments below so as not to bias the results of the poll.

Thanks!

I like spending other people's money ๐Ÿ’ฐ. BB58 or GS for me.

Theres always lots of Tudor's available used. Good if you want to buy one, but means owners don't keep them ,for whatever reason.

Id go Grand Seiko, it's the best value for money proposition there.

Tho I'm an Omega fan,so that's where my money would go.

How about the Nomos Club Sport. Wouldn't it be an alternative to the GS?

I like this version of the Nomos Club Sport, but it's a tad small at 37mm. The other versions are 42mm, which is a little too large. My sweet spot is 38-40mm.

What Omega in the sub $5K range would you suggest? If it's not obvious, I prefer white and blue dial watches.

For me it would be the Nomos. Truly interesting small independent manufacturer. I love the way they have implemented the GMT complication on the Tangomat. The Louis Erard would be my second choice, GS third. I have nothing at all against Tudor (and am very tempted by the Pelagos FXD). Nomos makes me smile the most!

100% agree about the interesting GMT complication and I absolutely love the aesthetic of the Tangomat. My biggest concern with the Tangomat is the water resistance rating of 3 meters or only splash proof. If this watch had a 50m water resistance, I would buy it tomorrow.

Agreed - such a shame that both of Nomos's "travel" watches (this and the Zurich) are just splash-proof; travel and holidays often involve water - I rarely take my watch off while traveling. GS have some great GMT watches in budget, with decent swim-ability.

The diameter size is little irritating. The shape and the lug to lug size does make it wear and look bigger than it is.

If not made yet I would higly recommend to try it on if you have the opportunity.

Buy used. I paid ยฃ3500 for Seamaster 300 heritage (2015 model) , ยฃ1300 for early quartz Aqua Terra and ยฃ400 for Mariner 1.

Theres lots of SMP's used that are well within your budget. Just don't buy new, I never have & not had any problems ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I'll find a Nomos AD and go try on some watches

I own the nomes youโ€™re eying and love it. But try it on, the lugs are not for everyone.

I might be selling my Seamaster 2531.80, let me know if it interests you.
