I got spoiled by this watch

So here is my problem: after wearing my GS I can’t really wear the other watches I have, they all feel less comfortable and heavy on the wrist, by the point that I’m thinking about selling the rest of my collection and only wear titanium watches.

I got spoiled by this titanium GS. Please help!

GS will do that to you! I once tried on the snowflake and couldn't believe how light it is. Is this one of the 4 seasons? It's a great watch and I love the pop of blue from the heated seconds hand.

·

Yes, this is the Winter one SBGA415. Great watch

My understanding is that titanium never took off as a luxury watch material, because consumers associate light weight watches with "fake."  For example, when I gag gifted a fake Rolex to my cousin, her very first reaction was to weigh it in her hands.  "Wow.  This feels real.  It's really heavy."

But, I agree 100% with you.  I think titanium is by far the best material for a watch - lighter, more comfortable, etc.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago when I bought a $400 Ti Boldr with the crown at 10.  The Ti was good, but having the crown tucked away was a comfort game-changer.

My primary watch requirement almost instantly became "does not have a 3:00 crown", so I could totally see having a similar feeling about the lightness of Ti.

The fake Panerai that I got for a few bucks on the street in Bangkok is pretty light...

I have two titanium Seikos, not GS though. And yes, you do get spoiled. Sorry, there is no help. 😜

I like the power reserve in the front to be honest.

·

I think the power reserve thing in the front is just something folks get used to, imo.

Yeah, not big of a deal

Great endorsement!

- I’m saving up for a TI GS.  Often being on a bike means heavy watches are painful on the wrist.
Really can’t relate to the idea I’ve heard by many that Ti feels too light 🤔🤷‍♂️

Mine says "hello!"

Not a GS ti but i own a Tudor Pelagos, wasn't consider the weight of a watch before and now it's one of my top criteria. Next on the list is a Ti GS. Cheers

You need to embrace the love.  The heart wants what it wants.  The longer I am in this hobby, the more I realize it is important to wear what you really love.  I only regularly wear 3 out of the many watches I own.  I used to feel bad about not giving wrist time to all my watches, but now I know life is too short to wear watches you really don't want to.

·

love this watch ! How big is your wrist?

Agree.  I bought and sold a BB58.  Great watch but always Felt too heavy.    Tired on the Pelagos fxd and fell in love with how easy it wore. im not on the waiting list but if it was 40mm … I probably would be.

I like the power reserve. It gives an otherwise boring dressy watch a bit of a unique and high tech look.
I often associate light weight with high tech materials (carbon fiber, titanium, etc), and a lightweight  watch is often a nice advantage.

6.75 inch wrist

I got the same bug and the same problem. When I wear mine, I do ask ‘why am I wearing anything else?’. Nice to know there’s a Ti support group out there!

Also not GS but yes, titanium is quite something! It feels like you're handling plastic but it just won't break. 😂

·

I have the same feeling and thought 😀

Tell me about these other watches you no longer need.....🤔

·

This is an easy problem to solve. Buy another GS :). As for Power reserve, I have a few. This one says hello as well :)

Love my Snowflake.  I believe there is a White Birch in Titanium with power reserve indicator as part of movement on the back of the case. Could be next on your wrist? IMO no other brand can do what GS does with a titanium finish.
