Not a fan of two-tone, but in itself that is not enough to reject a watch. I recall a two-tone Chronomaster of another watchcruncher which was drop dead gorgeous. But these Islanders get a No from me, probably mostly from the fluted bezel. I was first thinking that the issue was two-tone in combination with a dark dial, but the Rado posted earlier looks fine to me despite that combo.
No, it is not. You are either a normal person, have one watch, and take that one anywhere anyway. Or, you are a watch nut and the very idea of a GADA is a threat to your addiction. At the end it becomes just another watch category of which you desperately need an example of, completely defeating the idea behind the acronym.
Yes, relatively early on in my watch collecting experience I got a bit bored of normal looking watches and checked out the weird and wonderful ones on AliExpress. Oulm was a bit much, even for me, but Forsining had a few quirky designs like this one, and all affordable.
Regarding the combination of Glas and Huette (no umlaut on my phone keyboard), the word really means glass-melting-factory. So, at some point there must have been such a factory in this place. And yes, no sh sound in this at all in German.
