As far as I know we’re a bit limited on options in Boston. Both of these do pre-owned and vintage.
I had a really good experience at Shreve, Crump & Low over the summer (just trying on new and vintage pieces - check out the sweet faded 16710 below), very professional staff and I plan to bring some old family pieces to be serviced there soon.
The other is European Watch Co. I’ve only ever looked at their selection online but they were highly recommended by several folks I’ve met over the years.
Both are on Newbury St. so you can make a day out of it!

Beautiful watch! I’m curious, all my watches with Myota movements are 8000 series and the rotor can get pretty loud. Does the 9000 series in the Baltic act the same? Like on some watches I can hear the rotor every time I move my wrist lol 😂
Hey, saw your comment on yesterday’s WRUW but it won’t let me reply, keeps taking me to today’s thread lol. I don’t have experience with Uncle Seiko but I do have the Forstner Flat Link (polished/brushed, not the all brushed one). I love it, I have the pre 2021 Speedmaster with that chonk of a bracelet, never liked it so got the Forstner about a year later (standard not the new contemporary one).
Pros: Light, comfy, looks great, better fit than the OEM, and IT TAPERS!
Cons: Sizing is a bear as you need to unscrew the links from both ends, at least Forstner gives you all the tools you need!
LMK if you have any other questions on it, happy to help!
For me it's the bracelet that sets me off with the SBP143, I just think there are better options (like the CW @thiago mentioned) or more unique options that have some charm to them. Great looking watch but it just doesn't do it for me with all the other options out there.
Beautiful Doxa and Dugena @Pascal! I'm a little late to the party but here goes:
My uncle gave me this watch a few years ago and told me it was my grandmother's, but she didn't wear it anymore. Given the age and size I suspected it might have originally belonged to my grandfather. Sure enough while watching some old home videos from the late 60s/early 70s I spotted him wearing it on multiple occasions!
The watch is in desperate need of some work, not only is that lug bent but the crown has recently fallen off. I'll be sending it in to Longines soon and hopefully they can get me more info on who purchased the watch, when, and where!
