NWA: Straum Opphav
Boy was yesterday a blast, not only did I receive some new Zodiac Sea Wolf hats in the mail (see my last post) but my girlfriend surprised me with this beauty of a watch after seeing me lust after it online.
For those unfamiliar, Straum is a Norwegian brand founded about five years ago, though the Opphav is their first(ish) watch release. Each color is limited to 125 pieces.
This piece is completely different to anything else in my collection, first integrated strap/bracelet (coming in April), less sports watch with the higher polish, super cool textured dial that is near impossible to photograph, I could go on!
Initial impressions are really good, the finishing quality is punching above its weight for sure. The dial is gorgeous and so are the hands. The leather strap is already supple and easy to wear (I already ordered a brown strap cause it’s so good). The only downside I can find is the ghost date position on the SW200.

I’ve seen ads for this pop up recently, and the dial on this is pretty incredible. I’d love to photo it, 😂 I think I stared at the blue version for a solid 15 mins online… but the green, more emerald, is lush for sure in the daylight. Congrats on the new watch and great pick! 🔥🤙

Thanks! Yeah the blue is beautiful as well, but I have blue and don’t have any green… or rather didn’t until yesterday.

Great girlfriend and what an excellent watch choice she made. Love the green dial. I very recently purchased a Opphav Damascus in the blue with a blue band, it's an absolute stunner! Still trying to get a good pic that will even come close to doing the dial and case justice. Cheers
