Help me understand the hype

I discovered Zelos only through Watch Crunch. Despite being a Singaporean, I have never heard of this brand. The watches look unique but the price point is closer to a Tissot rather than a Seiko.

There are alot of Zelos fans out here. Keen to understand what you guys like about their watches? Or really why Zelos?

Not a fan, but they have funny dials with vibrant colors and creative designs

·

The lumes!!! And love the cases and the bracelet… for the price can’t argue with it.

·

I no longer own any Zelos watches. I did however previously have as many as 6/7 & they are really good watches for the price asked. Very well made, interesting dials & are very customer oriented. Elshan Tang is very good at communicating with his customer base, listens to their feedback & this then forms part of his future releases. I had to get a chronograph repaired & all I paid was the postage, they replaced the part without charge.

The only reason I no longer have any is that in time I just found the watches too heavy for my arthritic wrists. Despite that, I'm a big fan of the brand, their community & of Elshan who is a really bright young man. If you like one of their designs I'd say go ahead & buy one. If you don't like it there are always people within their avid customer base that'll buy it from you.

Zelos is definitely an enthusiast brand. Great specs for the money, great build quality, amazing Lume and really interesting designs.

·

I can understand why people like the distinctive design of Zelos watches. I mean you can definitely distinguish a Zelos from afar, unlike yet another sub homage by 47th different brand.

·

The designs never really appealed to me, but they are apparently very well made. Most models are offered at a “discounted” initial price when they are released, and then the price increases after some short period of time. However, most sell out during that introductory period. So, the prices you see on the website may not reflect what people actually pay for them.

·

Having owned Seiko, Tissot and Zelos I can confidently say they are closer to Tissot in build quality and Brand Cache than entry Seikos.

They also constantly sellout, have a massive selection, and have an actual resale value (if that’s important to you).

But as others have said, I’ve gotten too old for the heft. Still a beautiful and excellent brand.

Well spec'd watch for the money. Unique designs and materials used. Price range from 299.00-12k depending on the model. He uses Swiss ETA, Sellita, La Joux Perret, NH series and the miyota 9000 series. So his offerings are pretty diverse. I'm a fan of his designs and have 10 at the moment. I'm looking at an older model to purchase and it's the Skyraider blue dial.

I recommend checking this link out. Gives you an idea of past and present models. They're celebrating 10 years this year.

Top row and the first 4 in the bottom row are Zelos. Stainless steel and titanium models.

I'm a big fan as you can see. I'm 62 years old and have no problems with wieght. There are titanium models which are a lot lighter. I've use straps on them also. Check out my WRUW section.

Huge fan. Definitely not for everyone with their dial designs.

But I love the funky out there designs. I was surprised on the quality, I feel it is above the price point. Also little touches like the loomed crown and the case back design that not every watch brand does.

I also interacted with their customer service (purely out of curiosity, I did not have an issue) and I was pleasantly surprised by the quick and efficient manner of it.

Overall my experience has been overwhelmingly positive with Zelos, and if you are into kind of out there unique dial designs, you can’t really go wrong with them!

·

Way better than other microbrands. They have a true identity and don't copy what's already out there. Can't say if it's great quality as I've never got one in hand but from what I can read here you can go, it's a great brand in the making

Amazing. Which one is your favorite?

You know that's a hard call but I like the Aurora Field Ti Aventurine Dial then my MOP. Their like your children you love them all and they each have their own personality.

·

The lume is 🔥☄️

My next purchase the Skyraider. An older model the hand wound Swiss ETA 6498-1 Élaboré movement. Zelos does step outside the dive watch realm. His new release coming is the Eagle with the LJP G100 movement. Check out @RelativeTime post on his WC page. Shane has the first pics of the watch I've seen. Looks like a real gem.

Hi @tonistarch , from Singapore too! I wasn't really interested in Zelos though I had heard of them. Then I went to a store that happened to carry them, and I must say they have some really nice looking watches. I had one I really liked but did not pull the trigger on the spot as it felt a bit small ( and I already had spent $ at the shop already) . Maybe one day I will find another one that hits all the right notes...

·

I got my first one recently. The MOP dial is quite unique to the brand, and paired with diving functionality, I do wear it while swimming and showering. It’s been a great value proposition for its build, function, and design.

Dial, aesthetic, cohesiveness of design, lume, quality, solid movements.

I'd love to own one but currently most of the ones I like on their site are sold out. I didn't see any option to get notifications when they restock or release new ones either. Do I need to know someone? Is there a secret handshake?...

They don't restock. I'm on their mailing list and get notifications on new releases.

It's an awesome watch. One word of advice. Don't shower in that or any watch. Warm water, soap etc isn't good for any watch. I love your taste there.
