THE Longines Zulu Time thread

Hello folks.

It's my birthday on Thursday and i'd like to see as many Longines Spirit Zulu Time watches as possible.

So i'm calling on you lot below and anyone else i've missed (feel free to tag people you know have one), to post up your Zulu Time pics. I don't care which size you have, what colour, or what strap, just throw up a pic. A new pic, and old pic, your favourite pic, ten pics, whatever.

Feel free to share some details, like how long you've had it, why you chose that variation, what your favourite strap paring is, for example.

Don't post them now, come back on Thursday please. I'll update this post then with my own Zulu Time!

Happy Birthday!

Got this at Christmas. I’m wearing it on a single pass NATO now and it has become my go to field watch.

Happy birthday man!

Here’s some pictures for you!

I recently got a 39mm zulutime and here’s some photos of me adjusting the bracelet and trying it on different straps.

I initially bought the 42mm on a strap and it fit me nicely but when the 39mm model was released, I much preferred the more understated presence of the watch on wrist compared to the 42mm. Additionally, i could not pull off the 42mm on a bracelet, so having the bracelet option on the 39mm as a viable option also sold me on it.

Managed to get the 39mm from my local boutique just about a week ago. I bought it on the bracelet but I have also ordered the deployant strap too. But I decided to pick the dark brown that comes with the black/blue configuration of the watch instead of the tan leather for the green/black.

Still waiting on that to arrive.

Overall I’m very pleased with this watch and I think it’s an almost perfect watch. I just wish the bracelet had on the fly adjustment. But other than that. It’s a phenomenal watch.

Happy Birthday Pete!

I got myself a Zulu Time last December, as a celebratory purchase for getting promoted at work.

I went to an AD with the intent of checking out the green bezel variant but it was not available. They had the blue dial and the black dial with the blue GMT hand, which us the one I went for.

Impulse buy? May be, but I kinda had to make the call to buy it or not on the spot because they were offering a good deal on it just on that day. Anyway, no regrets, I think the black variant is the best for me in terms of versatility.

I got it on the bracelet but keep changing to a brown leather and a few nato straps.

It is my most expensive watch and I'm certainly not afraid to wear it and put some life into it. I's also one of my very favorite ones, so I wear it a lot.

A couple of mild annoyances: it's a bit top-heavy on the bracelet and the large solid end-links make it wear larger that the size suggests, and it's running 3 to 4 seconds a day fast (which is way better that 1 second slow IMO).

edit: the watch/wrist proportion on the pictures make the watch look way too big for me but it isn't, it's the lens of the iPhone. I would be curious to try a 39 mm though, but I really like the presence of the 42 😎

Again, Happy birthday, enjoy your Zulu and here are my pics below:

Great story dude. I like the black, that would probably have been my second choice.

I like the selection of straps you've got for it. I keep thinking a NATO would work really well with the watch, aybe I just need to find the right one.

I haven't measured the accuracy of mine, but I wore it for 7 days straight recently and definitely didn't notice it being out of time at the end of the week.

Heres mine on a green canvas strap, one of the straps I swap it onto.

I’ve always wanted a smaller zulu time since the 42 was annouced. So, I got the 39 as soon as its available in my local AD. This is my first GMT and will be my travel watch for many trips to come.

Happy Birthday and enjoy your lovely Zulu!
