Artem Straps - Worth It?

Anyone here have experience with Artem Straps? Im thinking about picking this one up, I think it looks really slick and will look killer on 99% of watches. However, I’m having trouble swallowing the price tag - $158 ($85 strap + $73 for deployant clasp). And before anyone asks - yes I need the deployant clasp, I think it’s integral to a non-bracelet watch strap. $73 is quite a lot for a clasp but I’ve heard it’s very very high quality and designed quite well. I tend to get all my watches on a bracelet where possible so this strap would serve as an all purpose strap for those few occasions I’m craving something a little different and more comfortable etc.

Anyways, I’m 75% convinced to get this, so please help me out with that remaining 25%😂

That is a nice strap. Does it come with quick release?

IMO, I have had a couple thinking that the more you pay the better the quality which is the case in most cases but not in this case. I'm not sure why they think they can ask the money that they ask because reality is there's a thousand other straps just as good for one third or one half the price so shop around especially for sail cloth.

Dont waste your money. Had one that split at the hole I was using after 2 months off and on. Don’t think they improved the wearablity . Stiff .

It’s an additional $12 or $13 I think. I’d rather buy in bulk on Amazon for the same price lol

Good to know! Thank you! Will definitely do some more research on them and strap brands

Ok yeah, then that’s the only drawback of this strap

I can’t speak to the classic but I really like and have good experience with my loopless strap outfitted with their deployant buckle. I can’t speak to all sailcloth straps but it’s far and away better than the Barton Sailcloths I’ve owned. Is it worth the price?… that’s really up you and how much you’re willing to spend on straps. I can say that I wouldn’t hesitate buying more from them or recommending based on my good (though limited) experience.

I’ve tried Bradystraps and it was pretty good for the money. 45 bucks or so I believe

Value is up to the individual. I have two Artem straps, classic black and classic blue. I like them. They are, in my opinion, much better quality than Barton sailcloth straps. I would recommend them if you don’t mind spending the money. I paid $80 each for mine. If you’re spending $1000 plus on a watch, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to spend $80 on a quality watch band. They are probably overkill for a less expensive watch.

Did you contact Artem about the problem and ask if they would be willing to replace it? I would bet they will stand behind their product.

Love the SPB143!

For my money, Fin Watch Straps are more comfortable. Like all sailcloth’s, they take a little break in.

I didn’t . It was not worth the effort. I wasn’t interested in a replacement and I doubt that they would refund the cost.

I've been looking at Artem too and am having trouble with the cost, but I give anyone who suggest Barton as an alternative quality strap side eye. I've tried a few of them from Amazon. They're okay. They match the cost aka you get what you pay for. They're definitely not quality though.

I looked at those too, but no deployment clasp.

They have some with the Omega style deployant and a traditional deployant.

This. If you have a quality watch I don't see the problem with matching it with a pricier strap. Reminds me of the car modding hobby. Some people are willing to shell out money for nice cars but want to put the cheapest mods on them that look tacky or are bad quality. Why???

If you go Artem I would recommend against the original version with keepers that you have in that image. I have heard of these splitting from the forums.

I have the loopless variant on a couple of watches and I’m honestly very happy with them. While I haven’t tried the original version, someone on here said the loopless aren’t as stiff as the original variation in another thread and the way it closes doesn’t bend the strap so it should have a much longer life.

All of the straps were initially stiff and had a break-in period. I did try Artem's original version at first but like @WaPhoto said I think the loopless variant is the better of the two.

I see it now, it wasn't on their sailcloth strap section for some reason. Not loop less though like Artem but definitely better price!

·

I get what you mean, but it was from the Artem official store in Amazon. I can't imagine ordering direct will drastically improve the quality of a $30 strap though.

Very nice selection! In the Artem vs. Fin, I think it can vary on which you one get. I agree, as a whole artem has better quality across the whole line, but the better Fin straps are up there with them. As others have posted here, not everyone has been happy with Artem quality, but like anything, everyone's experiences may differ.

Thank you. Fin straps are definitely quality straps and they offer more of a selection of lug widths. To me they're just about neck but Artem just edges them out. A fine choice either way but like you said experiences may differ.

Sorry, meant Barton on Amazon. Brain fart moment! And yeah more money doesn't equate quality, but there's a ceiling limit when you're talking inexpensive things with any material goods.

I have Bradystraps for my Seiko! Good product for the price, haven't had complaints.
