Just joined in - sharing my keepers

Joining in the watchcrunch community. Just wanted to share my current set of keepers. Hopefully I won't get back into the buying spree soon unless if I sell any of these keepers to upgrade to a better one. Or probably when I reach another milestone or achievement. We all make excuses when buying a new watch anyway 😂

Some stories of these pieces:

The keepers:
⌚Omega Aqua Terra 38mm - a milestone watch celebrating my 30th birthday and 2021 significant achievements and events
⌚Oris 65 Bronze Bezel - a watch that helped me through a work heartbreak
⌚Tudor Prince 34mm - my first Swiss watch bought to commemorate a work achievement
⌚Seiko SPB149 - an anniversary gift by the then gf (now fiancée)
⌚Seiko Save the Ocean Turtle - first watch gifted by the gf-fiancée

The affordable collectibles:
⌚Hamilton Khaki 38mm auto and Seiko SARB035 - the best value Swiss and Japanese affordables
⌚Omega Seamaster quartz and Seiko 5 arabic dial - my integrated bracelet duo
⌚Smiths Everest 36mm - my Explorer placeholder
⌚Seiko Nano Universe 'Daytona' - the awesome grab-and-go panda pair

Welcome. Nice group of watches! I love how you immediately discuss the potential of selling your ‘keepers’, you’ll fit right in here 😂

Lol 😂 thanks for the welcome bud. Almost half of these keepers are sentimental so they will not really go anywhere, except if I upgrade them, like upgrading the Tudor Prince to a modern Datejust or the Smiths to an Explorer. I'm pretty happy with the number of watches I have so it's pretty much "1 in-1" out for me from here on.

Fantastic collection… Looking forward to hearing all the stories behind them! Especially those dueling seiko chronos… 💪🤙 Welcome to the Crunch!

Thanks for the welcome man. Hey, that's a good call, I'll try to edit my post to add some short background on the watches. As for the Seiko chrono pair, they're collaborations with Nano Universe and was said to be Seiko JDM homage to the Paul Newman Daytona. I originally bought the reverse panda but felt that I need to complete the pair so I hunted also for the white one 😂

No problem - they are gorgeous and I’d be hunting for the matching pair too, haha. I’ll have to do some googling now - were these limited by chance? Great backstory - never hurts to be tied to/inspired by the Paul Newman Daytona! ❤️

They're not numbered pieces, but I think the production was a limited run. If you have a Facebook account, try searching for Seikology. I bought my white dial from them though I'm not sure if they still have stocks of both.

Welcome. Nice collection

Appreciate it bud 🍻

·

Excellent collection!  Welcome👌

·

Lovely collection. It's nice to see some varied pieces. I wonder how long the 1 in 1 out policy will last 😂. My collection has definitely increased since my 1 in 1 out embargo.

·

Welcome! Sweet collection.

Love the variety, one for every mood.

Love this unique Seiko 5 that you got! Do you happen to have the model number? I love the unique markers on the dial, capturing a fun and carefare free spirit but very subtle so you can wear it with a lot of outfits!

Edit: Just realized Im a pretty big idiot. I apologize to anyone I've offended but I honestly didn't realize the markers are actually Arabic numerals! There super cool and sorry again for not recognizing them. This was the first instance I saw them hahah

I was able to keep it up for a while, given that I sold some of the more collectible Seikos and Orients I owned, like the SARB033, SARB017, and some Orient Sub and President homages. As long as it is not my sentimental pieces, I guess I can pretty much sell it after some convincing especially if it's an upgrade. It's just too difficult to wear them all if it gets more than 10-12, at least for me, that it kinda takes away some of the fun of the hobby as well.

Thanks bud! Yeah that's what I'm really going for, having at least one watch of each style I really like. Only thing I'm hunting and saving up for now is an elegant dressy watch, probably with a chrono or moonphase. Not in a big rush though.

Hey thanks! I believe it is the SNK063J5. They said some can still be found in UAE. Or eBay.

Welcome! I dig your “Sill Life with McMuffin and Seamaster” profile background. 🤙

·

Looks like you have your bases covered.....winners, all of them and I'd be proud to wear any of them.

Sweet Aqua Terra. That's one of my favourite combinations of colours and materials.

Thanks man.  Lol yeah just something I took when I was back in the office for a while.  McMuffin's all that I can afford now because of the Aqua Terra 😂

Thanks for the kind words.  Exactly what I'm going for, one watch at least for any occasion.  There's a G-Shock not included in the collage too for more beater purposes.

Thanks man.  I'm thankful that they're underrated, at least in my opinion.

They are indeed.

·

I’d keep all your keepers too! Beautiful collection

Welcome. Very nice edition. I find the idea of owning same type of watch, just with different colour interesting. Maybe not for a Patek ... 😜
