Oyster case v Twisted lugs

I posted this on my Instagram (@seniorrapido) but since I don't get much engagement there, I'm posting it here also. The oyster case has been one of the most recognizable watch designs and arguably the one of the best too. Then, there's also Omega's twisted lugs which I think is also one of the iconic watch designs out there. If you can only pick one, which would you choose? Any thoughts about both?

Of course, a comparison photo of my Tudor Prince and Omega Aqua Terra.

Omega, all day, every day. I find the Rolex/Tudor design boring, and simple.

Omega every day - the only thing that was once distinctive about the oyster case was its method of waterproofing.  The exterior design has always been pretty generic and for the past 50 years its interior design has been industry standard.

I really love both designs.

I like the classic look of the oyster case. If I had to pick one, I‘d go with the Tudor/ Rolex oyster case but luckily I don‘t have to choose 😜

Yeah I agree with the simple part, though I can't deny that it's comfortable to wear especially its thinness.

The twisted lugs is just a treat to look at isn't it?

Me too, luckily I was able to afford and own one of each. And luckily also, the newer Rolexes are too difficult to buy anyway, so there goes some money saved 😂

Definitely picking the Tudor, it’s an absolute stunner in my opinion

I love the Omega's in photos and the Rolex/Tudor on wrist. I don't have the most wrist real estate and find the twisted lugs make the watch look chunkier vs. the straighter oyster lugs.

The aqua terra is probably one of my favorite watches of all time, but I'm gonna say oyster for case design. It wears sleek and is considered basic because it's what so many other watchmakers base their designs on.

Omega.  I am finding that Roman numerals look fussy to me now.  I used to see them as a sign of sophistication.  Now, not so much.

I agree - they bring a real identity to the case AND some drama and light play.  To be honest I don't love some (not all) of Omegas dial treatments - they feel a little heavy handed - but I think their cases are brilliant.

Love them both. Your IG page is awesome 👌 You have a great collection and your photos are very cool!💯

I would say Omega here. It looks simplier and cleaner. And I believe you can use it for more occassions.
