Help! Omega consumes battery like nuts

Anybody who has experience with the Omega quartz caliber 1342? My Omega Seamaster's battery only lasts around 6mos. I already had my local watch tech to service the watch and it still drains the battery like hell.

EDIT: Apparently I was too lazy to research but there has been some info on this Omega Caliber 1342 wherein it originally uses a mercury battery which is now discontinued. Modern batteries apparently only last 7 months to a year in this movement, which is in line with my anecdotal experience. More info here: https://calibercorner.com/omega-caliber-1342/

More pictures of this nice watch.

Funny I was at my AD yesterday they have this serviced and took a year to come back…also I was going to buy this but the bracelet was sized too small and off course cant get a new bracelet for this vintage. I was impressed how thin the watch is…

Can’t help with the battery issue but that‘s a fine looking watch.

Are you or your local tech serving it? Never buy batteries at your local stand/dealer. Good chance the batters have been lying around as long as you’ve been alive and/or may be recycled or the wrong size. I’d recommend buying the correct size new Energizer or Renata and swapping it yourself, it’s very easy. Worst case, if you don’t feel comfortable, buy the battery and have them install yours.

That's a gorgeous looking relative. Yes the watch is real thin and comfortable to wear, especially with the AP-like bracelet.

Yeah I'm having it replaced at my trusted watch tech. Upon researching last night, I found that the movement originally uses a discontinued battery and that modern batteries do not really last long in this, which matches my anecdotal experience.
