Watch collector from Chicago who spends most of my time debating between adding my next microbrand or established brand piece. Still exploring the sub $1k watch world while researching and admiring higher end pieces.
Arrived early today. It’s my first Traska and first mint dial. So far so good. Might post a detailed review after a week or so if people want to read...
My Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical is nearly 10 years old and has never needed servicing or has had any issues. it does have a stock ETA vs the current “in-house” movements though
My godbrother planted the seeds. A couple of years ago a YouTube video titled “Why Watch Collectors Hate Timex” or something to that effect popped up in my recommendations. Not sure what compelled me to watch it, but it was like everything clicked and I understood why enthusiasts appreciated mechanical movements
I love that you use your explorer for its original intended purpose! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I wear a watch daily but seldom get around to wearing them in the great outdoors. That changes this year. I take the odd amateur photograph here and there and post on IG
Sports but wow would I miss the occasional diver or field watch. I feel like at the price points I dabble in, I wouldn’t miss the dress category for example, and some sports watches are versatile enough to double as a dress piece
