What's your grail watch?

The idea of a grail watch is very elusive for me. I don't think realistically, you can just have one watch. Even if you do, you will want another one.

I know for some, the list below is mundane. For me and maybe others, the pieces below I feel are aspirational.

Pleaee comment and mention your grail watch is it was not included below.

The AT has everything for me. Thanks for coming and good night.

Don’t believe in grails. So much in life to experience; don’t think a watch grail is there for me.

·

For me the Reverso is the one that really stands out from among your 4 choices. Would love to own one someday.

·

Constellation pie pan.

·

Except for the Tudor, those are all the watches I want. Though the Pelagos is a great watch, a GS Spring Drive would take its place.

I chose the Reverso because that’s the watch that’s out of reach for me.

To be honest my grail watch is aka my fantasy watch. For it to classify as Grail to ME it has to be at least 95% unobtainium. Therefore from this list at this point, most likely the DJ as waiting time is the longest followed by the Reverso as they hiked their prices by a ridiculous amount. At the moment my Grail is the VC 222, as I cannot justify buying it at least not for the next 25 years or watches like the Speedmaster 321 or Daytona as they have a waiting time of 25 years 😂

·

None of the above. A fifty fathoms or a silver snoopy for me are the grails at the moment.

·

I bought my version earlier this summer. Definitely was and still is a grail for me, but the best thing about is it’s one I can (and do) wear daily.

My pick out of these is the reverso but my actual grail is the emergency

·

strange grail list options you have there, my thoughts on grail watches are they have to be pretty much unobtainable.

My grail list is -

vacheron constantin overseas,

Grand Seiko tentagraph titanium

Jeager lecoultre master perpetual calendar

Perfect 3 watch collection

·

Got mine a few years ago.

Adore it, absolutely grown & still growing on me too. Find it difficult to wear anything else .

Of those on the list I'd go Aqua Terra.

Breitling Chronomat 42 B01 or a JLC Polaris are my two grails.

·

I believe in a Grail Watch at a particular moment of one's life, not as absolute indeed.

For me the JLC Polaris (vintage or new) is the current one.

·

The one on my wrist

Barely obtainable: Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date (the two-tone)

Absolutely unobtainable: Lange Zeitwerk in Honeygold

·

The Tudor Pelagos LHD was my grail watch. Now I own it and I'm very happy with it.

Good to know. I donno something about the watch is very unique. More I see it side by side with a Submariner, more I want the Pelagos. (Totally my opinion), more and more Tudor watches are showing their awesome personalities, where Rolex looks more and more like a jewelry.

Great choice.

Datejust! Grand opening grand closing

Its a beautiful piece. Unpopular question, don't you think Tudor 36 is looking more and more appealing than a Datejust?

·
Bondage

I had two holy grails for my two collections, pistols and watches, and they both tie into my James Bond obsession.

Just a couple of years ago I found a NIB German Walther PPK, 7.65mm, from 1967. I snagged that and it makes me very happy. 😎😀

Now I need a 36mm Rolex Explorer - Ian Fleming's watch, and the one he gave his alter-ego in the books (reference 1016). But I'd be perfectly happy with the new 36mm model as well.

Very good choice. That watch definitely is timeless.

For me, I think it would be the Aqua Terra or the Reverso. I'm not a fan of divers in general, and even if I'm a leftie, I still wear my watches on my left arm, so the Pelagos is a no go. The Datejust is also not my favorite Rolex(I prefer the Explorer).

The Aqua Terra is a classic everyday watch, while the Reverso is a really nice dress watch [I don't play Polo, so not a sports watch for me ;) ]

I really love both, they're not my grails, so my guess it would depend if I want a dress or a GADA.

AT is special :)

This was mine, done and dusted. I’ll be picking up one more watch after I’ve sold a couple, but I’m done with ‘grails’ and focusing on an ‘exit’ watch.

Congratulations, it is beautiful

Submariner no date 🙂🐻‍❄️ or Explorer ll with polar dial

Both are amazing watches.

Just got my pelagos 39 early this month and I absolutely love it. Lots of cool nods to past Tudor/Rolex models. It’s since eased my obsession over the submariner. Can’t wait for it to come in different colors.

My grail is an AP ultra thin perpetual calendar. For me it’s the complication + how insanely thin the watch is. So cool imo.

Thabks for sharing my friend

I Have 2 out the four that I have on my grail list. Rolex Sub and Breitling Superocean. Now I will focus on the Omega seamaster and the Tagheuer Monaco. The journey is the best part.

I completely agree

I personally do not think so but I understand when someone likes it better.

·

I vote Reverso
