In Memoriam: Gone (or going) but not forgotten...

One of my goals this year was to reduce my watch collection down to only those watches that I wear regularly.  There are, of course, some obvious sent...

Titanium G-Shocks: Peak G-Shock and/or Irrational Purchase?

To me a G-Shock was always a bit of a living fossil, a nostalgic throwback to the 80s and 90s that I grew up in — kind of clunky, a bit outdated, yet...

Question for the Lefties of WatchCrunch

On which hand do you wear your watch? Traditional rule of thumb is to wear the watch on your non-dominant hand, which would mean for a left-handed per...

If I bought that many watches in a year and my wife found out, it would be MY funeral! 😂

Ah! That makes a lot of sense.  Also explains why I don’t have any perpetual calendars in my collection (well, except for my G-shock…)

Did not realize this community’s nerdery extended to pasta.

Let me put in my strong recommendation for Cascatelli, a newly invented pasta now available at Trader Joe’s.  It’s fabulous!

Here‘s the story on how how it was invented in excruciating detail by its inventor, Dan Pashman, who has a foodie podcast called the Sporkful.

Instructions unclear — bought watch and declared nuclear ☢️ war on China...

As a Poli Sci major as an undergrad during the last century who spent a large part of it studying game theory and nuclear deterrence 🤓, never in a hundred years would I have expected to read a post on the subject on a watch forum.

What are folks using the watch winder for?

Is there an actual need for watch winders given that the industry has switched over to synthetic lubricants?

I guess I can see a use for them if you have a couple of watches that you switch between in a weekly rotation and want to keep them fully wound but from a long-term storage standpoint for infrequently worn watches, I don’t see much of a point of it and feels like it would cause unnecessary wear on the movement.
