My full watch collection on the table.

Hi, I'm 17 almost 18 and this is my watch collection. Except for the two pocket watches and the Citizen on the right, these are all watches purchased by me.

My passion started a few years ago, but I've been wearing watches since first grade. In the second year of high school I bought my first mechanical watch and a few days ago I bought my first "serious" watch.

The watches in my collection are:

  • 2010 McDonald's Shrek wrist watch

  • Casio F-91W, on a nato single pass strap

  • Casio G-Shock GW-M5610-1

  • Casio Tough Solar STL-S100H-4AVEF (my first watch ever)

  • Hamilton Khaki field mechanical 38mm

  • Suunto-Xlander

  • Citizen gn-4w-s 30-8064

  • Casio Casio CA-53W-1ER (calculator)

  • Hamilton PSR

These are all the watches I have. I still have enough money saved up and if we count that working the summer I'll make more or less $3000, I think that for my 18th birthday in November I will be able to buy myself a "luxury" watch.

P.S. Let me know what you think of my collection 😊

Nice one mate 👍🏻

·

Nice collection! Love the shrek watch! That Hamilton PSR is pretty sweet. I wish I would have saved my red LED watch from my childhood.

·

Cool to see that PSR!!

·

That’s sure an early but great start on your watch collecting journey! The PSR must be a great conversation starter when hanging out with people of your age.

Here in Italy we still have a few days off so I haven't worn it to school yet, but still I don't think anyone will notice as people my age don't care much about watches... There are more or less 300 people in my school and I don't know anyone who wears a watch other than an Apple watch...

Shrek watch its a game changer🤣

·

You might feel bad if i say this but someone gotta do it and i will take the responsibility

2010 limited edition Shrek wrist watch shows that your taste was at the pinnacle in 2010. ♥️

In all seriousness, props to you for keeping it

I bought the Shrek watch exactly two weeks ago, because Shrek is one of the best Dreamwork films (in my opinion) and I bought it not to wear it but just to have it. I did the same thing with the Suunto X lander which I hardly ever wear since I bought it because Leonard Hofstadter wore it in The Big Bang theory series... Both are very cheap watches I bought them just to take off a whim. Leaving aside this fact, I would like to know the reason why you wrote me this comment, since they are all nice watches.

Hats off for such collection at 17👍 also curious what you have in mind for birthday watch

Haha, i absolutely love the Shrek movie, here in my country we had Shrek action figures with a happy meal and i had some of those.

From what I see watch collecting is very serious and i would like to say very strict hobbie where people mostly don't go too much out from the ordinary tradition. And in that to see a goofy Shrek watch which you kept respectfully which come Casio and Timex legens was a breath of freash air and offcourse no offence.

Offcourse i didn't mean to say you don't have any taste you got a dope collection.

I meant to say I loved the Shrek watch haha. That's all man

Here is one of my happy mean toys. I have away Shrek and donkey to a relatives kid because he liked it.

Nice collection! Do you know what your "birthday luxury" watch will be? I am curious

I don't know yet which watch I'm going to give myself for my birthday, as for 3000€ there are many wonderful watches... Currently I like the Otsuka Lotec N6 watch because it is completely different from the competition and also well made. Surely during this year I'll change my mind often, but in November I'll put the photo of the watch I've chosen here on WatchCruntch.

Great collection.

But an advice:

I don't know your exact situation. But do NOT spend your safed money on a watch. I understand your tickle on your wrist, but as an 18 years old man, you will just starting to be confronted with real responsiblities for yourself and others. Job, Study, moving, first own apartment house, children, god beware illnesses if you or others.

3K means it can get your head out of serious trouble without begging others to help you out.

But also I would recommend to invest as much as possible in yourself. Up to age of 30 (this means old to you but it isn't) you shouldn't think about anything else the study, skills building and increasing your own vallue.

Language courses, it-skills, university, or study abroad.

With 30 or above you will be able to buy any watch you want and you will be happy you didn't spebd 12 years before your money on a watch.

If you really getting nervouse to buy a watch look for something around 500 bucks and put the rest on account where you can't reach easily.

Check also used or vintage watches. Take your time. And you can find something awesome. The search is also very fun.

I don't know yet... The only watches under 3000 that currently makes me go "woow" when I see it, are the Otsuka Lotec No6 watch, the Hamilton Inta matic chronograph H and the Studio Underd0g watermelon... These are all below 2000$, so maybe if I wont find others that I like, I will go with one of them...

Do you have any watch to recommend? (not a diver)

I do not have a recommendation. Watches are too personal to select for someone else.

Great taste!

Great taste!

Thanks

·

Excellent. A young man your age, I'm impressed that you landed on the Hamilton PSR. Not a cheap watch either. I wish my son showed such initiative. And I wish he shared my passion for watches. Off to a fantastic start.

·

That Shrek watch is a riot!

·

It’s all ogre now.

·

Well done sir. The Shrek watch is especially impressive.

·

I feel ya on the Shrek watch. I have a pair of watches that are remnants of an earlier life. They are included in my collection because...because well...fuck it. They are watches and they are mine.

·

The accuracy is nearly perfect.. I think it is +15 seconds on the gold one and -10/+10 sec on the silver one. No I dont use them, my grandfather gave them to me…

·

Love the rotation

·

Great start to a lifetime obsession. 😎👍

·

Nice variety....the Shrek watch is priceless man LOL! Have fun!
