This Invicta “1953” completely erased by craving for a Lorier and is holding me off from a BB58

Yeah, yeah - Invicta sucks most of the time, but this is a fine watch at around a hundred bucks and looks the part.

It is my guilty pleasure but I’m not feeling as guilty anymore almost a month with it. It’s getting a lot of wrist time cause it’s so cost-effective too and I don’t feel like I need to baby it lol.

Hey I think it's a great looking watch. Although the brand has been on a journey it has excellent heritage. No guilt needed in the pleasure you take in it!!!

Do those have the Invicta etched in the side?

Nope. It’s like they made it to be everything people want compared to their normal offerings.

·

Sharp watch indeed. But no acrylic so it's Lorier for me 😂.

Nice. Really is a great looking watch. There’s nothing better than feeling content with your watch.

I've had my "Batman" 34333 model for over a year - it wears great and keeps excellent time (within COSC). It has kept me from spending 2-3X for a Seiko with similar or lesser specs.

The actual "heritage" of the brand was buried in 1991 when the name was bought by a slick marketer. It became something else altogether. The original historical Swiss brand Invicta has as much connection to the company using the name today as the Historical brands Elgin and Gruen do to the crap bearing their names that are sold at Walmart and grocery stores during the holidays.

Now with the rant over and back on topic-the 1953 is ,indeed, an anomaly for Invicta and might very well be their best ever.

Hey I still want a Falcon, maybe if it comes out in white/cream one day though!

Series II, had a white dial with either gold or stainless. There were some used ones that popped up last week using WatchRecon.

My favorite “normal” Invicta. They offer several colorways, including an all black PVD version and these.

Good for you man, that’s awesome!

1953's are cool, no shame in liking something

Because Invicta is no longer Swiss? Because they are trying to make money? I didn't realize the Swiss brands were in this for charity. Invicta's journey is no different than any other new microbrand except that they also own Glycine and have a history behind the name. Whether we like all the styles or not seems immaterial to me.

·

Its a seriously cool looking watch and one that been in my wishlist for some time. They're like hens teeth in Scotland unfortunately.

·

Invicta has Swiss offerings with Swiss Ronda and selita movements. They make cheap watches and good watches.... ugly ones too

·

Good looking strap!

·

No shade its a great watch. I have the standard pro diver. I've always worn it on the bracelet and my seiko 5 on a strap. Just swapped the seiko to its bracelet and my invicta to a rubber and omg I've re fallen in love

·

How's the thickness? Is it similar to the 40mm Pro Diver?

·
MrGeod

Nowt to be ashamed of at all. My grand diver is in a watch winder beside Rolex Deep Sea Dweller, Seiko Ultra7, & Phoibos Proteus it does not look out of place.

It looks great and I'm guessing left some extra $$$ in your pocket.

Not on the 1953, which improves the look. Very Rolex.

Very nice, very retro. Probably the only ones I would consider from the brand...

·

Had both the 1953 and the BB58 in my collection at one time and I agree, the 1953 gives off series BB58 vibes. But then they are both homages to 50s era dive watches, so hardly surprising. Gifted the 1953 to a nephew, kept the BB58.

supposedly it's like 14 mm but doesn't feel thick at all to me.

Love this watch, pairs well with so many different straps. It’s my guilty pleasure too!

The normal Invictas are the giant outrageous ones.
