Blued screws or no?

Thinking about a future watch for everyone and blued screws are on the table. The movement would be plated a gunmetal grey, personally I don’t think blue screws and grey go well together (I think it’s better on the white rhodium or contrasting with gold/brass). But I want to know your preferences!

If it’s a real heated blue, yes. Painted blue, no.

·

Why not gold colored screws for the gray movement?

·

The color of the screws is NOT a priority in any way shape or form IMO. Heat blued or not, unless you're dropping big bucks on an exhibition movement watch it matters not.

·

With clear case back, yes. With closed case back, it’s not that critical.

Agreed. If you are going to do blued screws do it the proper way not just for the sake of it.

It truly makes no difference to me.

This. If functional, absolutely. Otherwise it runs the risk of looking like a Seagul.

Black polished screws would look incredible if you as me.

That’s what I’d prefer

Is this the M01D?

In my opinion, having the blue screws on gun metal finish feels strange. I think most people are about "blue screws are objectively better", sure but how it all comes together is more of a concern here I believe.

Definitely voting for standard screws and more industrial look.

Last longer before corrosion occurs so definitely heat treated thanks . Look at Boar war gun barrels still rust free after 120 years , my brother owns a Mauser action single shot rifle from 1903 …. So yes blue screws thanks

·

The blue screws on the Seagull movement look awful, because they are painted and the colour is just too flashy. I have a Sellita with blued screws done the right way. they appear black at a first glance but have a blue hue in certain light reflections. now that is class.

On the same page as usual Kevin

As @ImNevix said, polished screws would look far better. It would give a more dynamic contrast to the Gunmetal.
