What's your favorite German midfield brand

I always thought I was a Sinn guy, but seeing more and more of Laco and Stowa, and going into their heritage has been fascinating. Whats your favorite moderately priced German brand? (yes, I know the picture above is not German, ironically enough it's a Chinese watch :D)

Today's choice. Voted Laco, but I'd love a Sinn 😉👍🏻

Stowa makes awesome watches and has superb customer service; but lacks the range of Sinn. Still voted Stowa - hard to beat it's Marine models.

·

I would consider Laco actually as an entry price level brand as their most selling watches are the basic line, starting from 350 Euro.

I've chosen Sinn. But would also consider tge kess known brand Limes ("Lee-Mess") and also Union Glashütte.

On some kind of expectations also Tourby, Junghans and Alexander Shorokhoff.

Those Laco’s and Stowa’s are beautiful, but Sinn has so much depth in the chronograph range that if that’s what you’re looking for it’d be hard to not go Sinn. Damasko is another option.

NOMOS!

No Nomos, voted for “Other”.

NOMOS!

Yes! 🤩 Plan is to get myself a Nomos for my birthday again. But do consider it a different league and category than the others on the list

Oh yeah, they are quite cool.

I guess with Laco I'm referencing the Laco Pro (1300€) more than the cheaper models.

But yeah, love Junghans as well, hope they will some day go back to making their own movements for all their watches again 🤞🏼

This is no surprise to people who know I've been collecting this brand for decades......

Any smaller model you'd recommend especially?

·

The Panova collection is a smaller, reasonably priced, bauhaus style piece that is available in a variety of colors.

The Teutonia series also has some smaller size watches at a higher price point.

Shoot for preowned and save some money.

I'm with @SurferJohn on this. Mühle Glashütte for the win.

·

The only German watch I have is a Panova Turquoise, so I have to go with Mühle Glashütte/other

Yes, I hope too. But unfortunately I don't see this comming for tge next...decade...

Junghans seems to stuck since few years in their development. Also the CEO has left the company in direction of IWC as I heared. Before they even used partly Grand Seiko movements. But this colab has also stopped. I actually wanted to prepare soon an article about this. But check out Lines if it's your taste. They offer quite high quality for their prices.

Have Laco, love Laco. But feel bad for discounting Damasko.

·

Nomos all the way

·

My favourite German midfielder was lothar matthause 🙄

NOMOS!

Love me a big date

·

Sinn are the best in my opinion, but also love my Dekla!

For me it’s a toss up between Sinn and Hanhart. Love my Hanhart pioneer 417 and my Preventor 9. Similarly I love my Sinn 556i and white dial 104.

I'd say Hanhart, Circula and Archimede. I'm really hoping Hanhart will make the Pioneer one in a smaller version soon, it's such a good looking watch 😭

I agree about the pioneer 1. Wanted the blue version but it wore really big on my slender wrist. A 39/40mm version would be perfect for me.

·

I'd love to add a Sinn one day, but so far only Laco has cause me to part with my money.

·

NOMOS

·

I love german watches and have a few different brands. But Damasko is my pick as the best

I think it's such a shame, #junghans has great heritage and has always been a German watch making powerhouse. I guess maybe Nomos is taking over this and becoming a big player in Germany even with their own movements.

But they do still make some really stunning watches 😍

I think Nomos and Union Glashütte are also awesome German midrange Brands 👌🏼
