Smartwatch - the blank slate, lacks physical design, it needs software to give it a soul. It demands your attention. It is an extension of your phone. It wants to be everything for everyone but nothing at the same time. It is a million transitors on your wrist. It is a million lines of code pass thru that screen. It is design by committee and corporations, facebook, gmail, ms, amazon, apple etc... all trying to steal your time.
Watch - It is pure hardware, designed with a singular focus, to measure time. You look at it when time matters to you. Crafted, intensionality and ingenuity are hard coded into these machines. There is no upgrade function or bluetooth connection that will not work one day. There is no daily search for a plug in, but it does require you to be living. To move, to give it life. Maybe add a battery if you need every 24 months, or leave it in the sun. All things that harken to slower pace and less stressful lifetime.
