How hard is it to get a JDM Watch in Europe and is it worth it?

Hi Chrunchers, I hope you all have a great day. As you really get into watches, you hear "JDM" here and there. Of the Infos I got these are Japan or Asia exclusive models of Seiko's or Citizen's for example. Some of these watches are a real bargain and if you want to get one outside of Asia you need to buy it from websites who sell them international. I also heard that some websites like buyee, don't even create taxes. That's all I know so far. But with that Infos and no experience and can't answer the question in the title, but I'm sure that here some more experienced Chrunchers. Your help is appreciated, have a great day.

It's not hard. At least I haven't had any issues. You just create an account on the website you wish to purchase from, and they will ship it to you. The local carrier in your country will then contact you for further information about the taxpayment, for example if you want to handle it yourself or if you want the carrier to do it for you. That of course costs extra. Some carriers (or probably most of them) want you to pay the taxes before they deliver it, and some will collect it after. This is how it's been for me at least. And to answer the question if it is worth it.. well, I guess that's up to each and everyone to decide for themselves.

Sakurawatches deals with many Japanese brands. Gnomon watches for Seiko JDM models. These two are my go to. Like @MegaBob said, fast shipping and taxes handled by you or through DHL. Straight forward. Can highly recommend Gnomon for Seiko watches, free shipping over $200 plus excellent service.

I bought my Citizen JDM from Chrono24, a spanish retailer imported some models. No tax an shipping included in the price.

You could give a try at amazon.jp too, I ordered a little watch from a Citizen subbrand, no tax fees, shipping very reasonnable for France

I bought a Seiko JDM on chrono24 on a Japanese shop and had to pay german “Zoll” Taxes. But it was really easy and absolutely worth it for my SARX055.

You just buy it from a Japanese dealer. That's how most people outside Japan get JDM watches.
