Probably one of the more stressful elements of preparing for holiday, what watches do I take?! Security didn't feel like much of an issue, we're in an all inclusive resort (not an attempt at a flex, we have 3 kids and I'm not paying twice for dropped ice-creams ๐ ). My main fear was doing something stupid like biffing it in the pool while mucking about with the kids, and then to be honest in the evening we're only going for a quick bite to eat then heading off to bed so felt a bit pointless bringing something nice.
In the end I opted for the old faithful, my Timex Atlantis dressed up a bit with my Diver's Bezel bangle, y'know in case there's a fellow watch nerd around, and my Casio MTP-1302P which was a generous Christmas gift from my brother. The Casio feels fancy enough in the evening and actually often gets overlooked at home so it's been fun to wear it.
I don't travel often for a number of reasons, so this was really quite a tough decision to make. I was genuinely sat in the plane thinking should I have brought something else instead.
Do you guys have specific watches for holidays or do you mix it up?
Also, I spotted these awesome "sculptures" on a roundabout during the bus into town, they even tell the correct time which is fun.

I like bringing maybe 3. I usually travel with one of my โwatch buddiesโ, so we have fun with it.
Same here, I usually bring 3 with me on trips, but the one constant is my BB Bronze, love how it's patina over the last few cruises ๐
I'm taking my "Beater" ... mainly 'cause I won't care if it gets lost or broken. My trusty 2009 resin-cased Expedition has vay-kayed across Canada a couple of times and to the Philippines twice without missing a beat! It's still going strong despite 15 years of use, abuse and neglect!
For me, it's usually my Tudor BB GMT. Good for understanding jetlag and planning calls with friends. It can go for a swim. Also, it seems to get a few watch sales staff to consider me a serious buyer.
For me itโs my Timex Expedition North. Super light and durable titanium with a 200m water resistance and a sapphire crystal. So itโs the do all watch that I can beat up and it wonโt break the bank! I was searching for a while and my wife recently gifted it to me. So Iโm ready for some new adventures!!
Venturian Daytripper. The 12 hour bezel can track time zones if needed and with 5 kids to chase around I donโt have time to worry about losing or damaging an expensive piece
Iโve recently bought a โholidayโ watch Christopher Ward c60 Atoll. Itโs a good watcher resistance and sunnier watch than my mainly monochrome collection.
Itโs a great watch and a relatively cheaper watch for any issues like theft or slight damage
I usually just bring one when I travel with my kids as you did. My beater is the Invicta Pro Diver.
Actually quite fun to dress up as I did on our last vacation.
Last time I took my Phoibos Eagle Ray GMT for the pool and beach, and my Hamilton Murph for evenings. Worked out OK.
This is my go to travel piece.
Iโm taking a solo trip later this month and Iโve decided to take only a Seiko Samurai. Itโs a watch I enjoy but itโs definitely on the expendable end of the spectrum. I donโt anticipate security issues leaving stuff in the room but peace of mind is priceless.
I always bring my Timex Ironman and maybe one other
Iโve got a clemence munro in amber and a burnt orange black tip from Zelos that are my now go to holiday watches.
will be travelling to Calgary later this summer and am actually thinking about switching it up from my above-mentioned usual travel companion to this:
which some of you might still consider a "beater" ... which it kinda is LOL!
Always the SARB035 plus 1-2 others.

Great combo, I love that Phoibos of yours ๐

Lovely stuff, big fan of @Clemence_Watches ๐
What I bring always depends on these two things:
What will I be doing, and
Where will I be staying.
That's it.
Going on a cruise:
What will I be doing? Well, there's pool time, dinners (both casual and formal), traveling to get there, going into ports, maybe some excursions...lots of different scenarios allowing the wearing of different watches.
Where will I be staying? In my stateroom, within the confines of a ship, with a dedicated safe. That takes care of my theft fears.
As a result of those two questions, I brought with me on my last cruise (April) 10 watches in total, in two rolls, including my "travel" watch. And I bought three on the cruise, lol.
Haha sounds like those 2 questions really narrowed things down ๐ "F*** it I'll just bring everything"
Great combo, I love that Phoibos of yours ๐
Oh thank you. For not too much money it's an interesting choice.
Diverx2 (both on nato), g shock, one of my SBBN tunas, and maybe a dress watch if I venture out of my swimming trunks at some point ๐๐
I hope you're putting something else on when you're venturing out of your trunks! That's a very different kind of holiday ๐

I have north of 130, so...

Ha yeah I thought you had a few! You've earned the privilege to whittle it down to 10, must take a while!

I change watches several times a day, so naturally I had to take a select few, the planning of which started a month out, lol.
I only ever take one. I want to enjoy my holiday and not worry about watches. I take something robust comfortable with enough water resistance that if I fall into a pool it will be fine. Something I donโt have to take off for any reason. Normally a Seiko diver fits the bill for me especially if itโs hot
For vacation i normaly wear my Citizen Promaster NY0040 Diver ๐๐ป
If Iโm going to a resort, I would pick this one.
But in reality Iโm always out in mountains on vacation, so this one
My choice for a travel watch will always be a Casio G-Shock with Bluetooth connectivity and an MIP display. I traveled for close to a month with a couple and can't stress enough how convenient it was to have a watch that's consistently accurate every time you cross into a different time zone while also displaying your current home time for reference, aside from being inexpensive enough to not worry about should it get lost or stolen.
I was very close to using this trip as an excuse to buy a timex expedition north for the exact same reasons! But I think it would have been a tricky one to explain to my wife! (you need to teach me how to get them gifted to you ๐)
The hardest part of our hobby, making sure my wife doesnโt notice a new watch! ๐ฌ๐ฌ
Usually I travel with two or three watches, the last time I only wear one, a Diver for the beach. Probably I will travel with just one watch.
Not been away too much since I got back into watches early last year however I do mix it up. Take a few more straps too depending on how long Iโm going for.
