Timegrapher app accuracy

I read a post about Vintage Palerma Antichoc ladies watch and @Stroud_Green mentioned the timegrapher app. I did not know that such a thing existed, so I looked it up and installed it on my phone. Does anybody know about timegrapher app accuracy how reliable it is? I was surprised with the results I've got but could it really microphone on my phone be such a sensitive to record beats on the watch or is it just one of those applications to "play with"? 🤷‍♂

What's the name of the app? Doesn't matter if it works or not, I want to play with it😅

Thanks for the link to my post, and the mention. I tested the app on my watches first, and can confirm that it correctly measures the BPH. All mine have NH35 movements which are rated at 21,600.

Not available in Apple App Store

Ohh intersting but would the magnet on cell phone interfere with the watch’s movement and come up with incorrect data?? I wonder 🤔

Does anybody have experience with this App for iOS?

You welcome! Your posts are always a pleasure to read 🙋‍♂ I'm considering building one watch, a homage called seikonaut (I just have to take my time bc my girlfriend dislike my watch obsession 😂)I discovered it yesterday in the WC and the photos look stunning. They also use these movements, but I have no experience with them, but reading the articles about them they seem to be very good

The NH34 / 5 / 6 movements are Seiko's entry level movements, but they are workhorses. Buy them from reputable retailers though because they are cloned in their millions and sold via AliExpress.

Thanks for the advice I will be careful when it comes to pulling the trigger. @Fiatjeepdriver sent me links where he purchasing the parts so I went through most of them and seems to be legit. With aliexpress I had a very bad experience so I'm trying to stay away from that shop although it is undeniable that you can find a reliable trader there as well

I use that. Works best with a mic plugged in.

That's a good idea 👍

I'll have to try it out, wonder what the results will be compared with the one I done 🍻

I use this app to regulate my watches and it has been fine to date. To make the best out of it, use the mic on the earphones. You get a more accurate reading.

If your watch has a very thick caseback like in the case of a few dive watches, then you may have case interference and doesn't give you close to accurate readings unless you open the caseback.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try it through the mic on my headphones as soon as I get off work. This measurement I did was through the Display caseback

but if I have to open it, it won't be such a big problem 👍

I heard the same thing about using a microphone with the app for the best performance. I watched a youtube video (in Spanish) where a gentleman made a pre-amp and microphone for little money to use with an app.
