Anyone else miss out on the Timefactors Everest onsale today?

I didn't get one and I'm raging...

I had a gilt dial Everest in my cart, put payment details in and clicked through to delivery - only to be told item has sold out and my cart has been emptied 🤬🤬

so that's pretty shit. but congrats to all who got one!

That's why I gave up on buying a Smiths. I gave it a shot twice. I'm not going to jump through ridiculous hoops or beg someone to take large sums of my money. They are available on the secondary market at about double retail, but I'm not playing that game either. That's not to say they aren't good watches. However, there's too many outstanding options in the watch world to deal with BS (limit purchase window to create FOMO demand by buyers) in the purchase process.

Par for the course.

·

I was able to snag one, so wearing my Expedition today to celebrate. 😉

Ah yes, the famous extraordinary vanishing shopping cart experience - a Timefactors exclusive!

·

Grab one on the secondary market, those new releases usually show up used.

Absolutely correct. Don't patronise these companies, there are many different excellent alternatives out there who want your business and provide amazing customer service. My goto being Marc and Ryan Islander watch in Long Island. They ship anywhere in the world, with in reason.

Island watches and their customer service is top notch. That Collab with The Urban Gentry was classy 🤌

I felt this way about the Moons watch, given it was only in select shops across the planet. But eventually when I got one, it made it just that much sweeter. Maybe this wasn't the time. Maybe keep holding out and hope for next time. But either way good luck with everything!!

Someone asked me once what my problem was with buying from Timesfactors, I'll just link the answer here instead of doing a giant copy/paste.

Yep, nothing has changed. Took me three attempts to purchase across several months three years ago. Timefactors is a one man band near as I can tell. And they certainly put the micro in micro brand that’s for sure. Great watch though.

I think that the sale model of timefactors is not for me. I only buy watches that are available at the time of order and I won’t wait for a store to open every other month for a few hours.

·

I like the Gilt, so I attempted it today. Had Chrome autofill everything as soon as the hour hit. The process took less than 15 seconds, and I didn't get one. I'm assuming at this point they're getting botted to be sold on the secondary market. Cause I made a valent effort and still came up short. Nevertheless, the secondary market isn't that crazy so if one shows up for the right price, I'll bite. But that kinda reinforces the behavior, doesn't it? *shrugs* 💸

Oh they are available at the time of order. They only open orders after they have stock to sell. Problem is their production numbers are minuscule so they sell out in minutes.

Meanwhile, brands like Baltic will let you order, take ur money, then send you the watch 8 months later, after they actually make it.

I’ve bought from both Timefactors and Baltic (MR01 scheduled for deliver in June). Both have their frustrations.

You summed it up 💯

What's the point I ask? After all that, and get lousy customer service? Even Rolex isn't this bad lol. And once I found out the current owners have to connection to the past, I lost all interest.

·

I got the time difference mixed up…probably time to buy myself a GMT/UTC to remedy that.

how you liking the ranger??

·

I adore it , it feels and looks absolutely well finished and made and the T lock system is astonishingly comfortable.

·

I've heard bad stuff about the company and it's owner - so might be worth avoiding. I've no first hand knowledge but your experience seems in keeping with that rep.

Don’t cry, mate, winners don’t give up!! Stand up and train for the next open!!

Register on Timefactors, use Chrome explorer to retain credit-card details, and log in TF website some minutes before openning. Go to the watch you want page, and refresh page every second until it shows “add to cart”… and run, FLY!!

I’ve bought 5 pieces on TF, and tried it less than 10 times…

I tried and failed. Then I found so many other alternatives to the Everest that I wasn’t sad anymore.
