What's everyone's favorite GMT release of 2022?

This was released earlier in the year and is stunning and great to own. Hands down my favorite. Of the four, the Seiko is most groundbreaking. I’d then go Tudor if I were actually buying, and flip a coin for the other two.

Awesome Monta! I wish I could have had more than 4 options for the poll. Deff woulda added a microbrand and also the new brietling chronomat GMT

·

Of those 4, the Longines for sure. But in general, this one I picked up last week 🙂

I think the BB Pro looks the best, but the dimensions seriously make it a No for me. I’d choose the Longines Spirit!

Hell yes! Such a hot watch 🔥

The only I could get was the one I voted: Seiko :)

I think the longines is amazing but I'm smitte  by the pro. My old grail was the rolex polar explorer ref.226570 but it's way too expensive, and also 42mm (same as my omega). Then the pro came knocking at a way more affordable price and is in my one of my favorite color sets of black and yellow. But as for value for money for entry level luxury, the longines zulu slays.

I went to 3 different ADs for the Pro, one in end of july, one in beginning of August and one in early September. The last AD I went to delivered it to me a few weeks later. The first AD took months to get one and the second I still havnt heard from.

I think it fits like a charm with the 39mm case size and I don't find it as thick as people say it is. But I also have an IWC Pilot's Chronograph 41 so I guess I'm just used to thicker watches. But then it doesn't feel thick when I go from my grand seiko SBGW287 Boshū to the Pro.

I’ve had the BB GMT and now have the BB58 and the Ranger. The GMT, as well as the BB Pro feel so much heavier, thicker and unpractical compared to the 58 and the Ranger. I too have the 41mm Pilot‘s Chronograph, but I find that one very large too! 😄

But nothing wrong with that right? Different wrists, different tastes.

I missed out on the Opaline, but did get the gilt version. Both are awesome. I wish they kept the same design language on 2.0.

True! Do you find you have a preference between the tudor gmt and pro on its aesthetics and how it wears?

That’s a tough one! Style-wise it’s the GMT for me. From the wearing experience, I’d actually go for the Pro :D

Killer Mido!

Not sure, maybe @Max can enlighten us?

·

I am not sure what everyone would think of, but I am certain it was Seiko who made people talk more about GMT this year.

·

For me the Seiko is the most important GMT of the year. Not because of its style, fit or finish, but because it's the first to bring GMT down to an affordable price.

Thar she blows!

True!

Favourite GMT of the year would be the Tonda PF Rattrapante, with a GMT hand that hides back under the regular hour hand, once you're back home. Doing that by pushing on the crown, which is neat.

Other contender would be the Laurent Ferrier Atelier Classic traveller. An understated way of interpreting the GMT function. Movement really shines too, as one might expect with LF.

Two magnificient gmt watches that I absolutely can't afford. But dreaming is free.

·

Of the options, the BB is most to my tastes — but the Seiko is the important one for the knock effect to other manufacturers.

I still feel like Mont blanc is just a pen company that decided to make watches.

·

I purchased the Longines (blue) earlier this year and I have no regrets.  I tried on the Tudor this past weekend and while its a great piece the dimensions just seemed off to me.  I did own the Seiko for a month or so and for the money its tough to beat.

Just my .02

They are exactly that.  A pen company that decided to make watches.  The statement is correct.

But how quality are their watches? I don't know enough about them. Do they just come up with nice designs but use a basic ETA movement and charge a decent chunk of change for em?

Montblanc is owned by Richemont Group. Owns many luxury brands. Montblanc uses ETA or Sellita movements (and a few in house) often finished to a high standard. I think it varies on the watch.

Very impressive.

This is the one I bought this year...I don't know if it counts as it won't come until next year.

An honor to be considered! We just went through more timing tests and fine tuning it. We are looking at +/- 5 seconds, with some clocking in close to 0!

Just put full payment down on a Pepsi bezel! Can’t wait to get it!
