Is 34mm a watch size only for women?

Hey guys. Just 1-2 days ago, I read post of Mr @degenerateWA about the very beautiful Tudor 34mm Prince Date. Honestly, I never thought Tudor would have 34mm watches.

Because my wrist is quite small, only 15-15.5cm (You can see the pictures below)

I wonder what people think about men wearing 34mm watches. And I'm really starting to look for 34mm watches like the Tudor Prince Date. If anyone knows of any interesting watches in 34mm, please let me know?

Previously I thought 36mm seemed to be the size of the watch that would fit my hand. But when I learned that there were 34mm watches with designs that were not strictly for women, I became interested in this size.

Rolex 36mm is also a great size for small wrists 😛 (like me). I love dial of this Date just model

34 mm is no way a female size when it comes to watches. Watches were much smaller than they are today. Wear what fits your wrist.

·

I have larger wrists than you do and wear even 33mm. Wear what you like, long as it suits you.

You can check Hamilton and Longines for some 34mm watches

Brietling, Omega and Marloe watches for 35mm watches.

Just a few that come to mind; there’s lots more

Men have historically worn watches 27mm in diameter and upwards. Early wristwatches were around this size. For me, a 35mm wristwatch is already edging on "big." I'm most comfortable at 33-ish mm. I have 7-inch wrists for reference.

Anything larger just looks off to me. I don't even wear my 38mm Seiko 5 anymore.

I think 34mm is great if it works for you and your style- heck 32mm depending on design or if it's vintage can work great. 36mm used to be a large watch for men, so any idea that these sizes are too small is nonsense IMO.

·

36 is my MIN.. if any lower, it would have to be really special. Back in the day when 34 or below watches were the thing, Men were requesting bigger.. IMO, all that matters is the person’s preference. If you like, go for it 💪💪

·

Looks good to me. I think the shape of the wrist is just as important as the size. That’s what she said.

·

Wear what you like that fits the way you want.

·

The answer is obviously not…

If you like the design of a smaller watch but want it to wear bigger, a single pass strap really helps.

Also I don’t know if most women even wear 30mm+ These belong to my wife and a female friend of mine.

Also, any “man” or “woman” can rock whatever they want 🖖🏾

My partner rocks a 34mm Rolex Air King from 2004 and it’s perfect on him. Does not look small or feminine in any way. Here is a photo of the model. It’s basically an Explorer with a blue dial, which I wish was an option for their current Explorer 1 line. It’s stunning.

My watches are mostly 38-42mm range, but I do have smaller ones too:

This one is my grandad's old Roamer Popular 33mm. I wear this when I want to feel classy. (6 1/4" wrist) And I can go even smaller😂

34.5 mm pink gold overseas on my 7.5” wrist, this is the size I’d go for. It’s all about how the watch sits and what you’re comfortable with.

·

I’m not going to say anything new, but case diameter/size is just a part of the equation. Lug-to-lug distance, bezel to dial ratio, strap vs. bracelet. There is so much more. Case size is just a first step.

I almost forgot - personal preference is what matters most. Remember - nobody except you will look at your watch. :)

·

As others have already pointed out, size is just a matter of fashion of the moment. I have several mid-century vintage men’s watches, all 32-34mm.

You may not be old enough to remember the 70s - ties got wide; jacket lapels got wide; collars got long… Watches started getting big in the 90s.

As for gender, people can wear whatever they want. I know women who rock big (40+mm) watches as bangles.

Frankly, I’m glad to see the trend headed toward sizes decreasing a bit now.

Bro… brand of this field watch plz ?

·

You’ve got some great shots there. 34m looks super. And to be honest the difference on the wrist of a 34mm datejust or OP doesn’t look that different on the wrist than a 36

and 28mm on 7 1/2” wrists is normal

16.5 cm wrist, I love wearing my 33mm Longines. It does not feel out of place, instead it looks very elegant and refined 👌🏻

·

Some beutiful vintage omegas in the size your looking for!

·

When in comes to watch sizes: you can always go too big, but never too small.

·

I plan to wear a 30 mm watch tomorrow. It does not matter. Wear what you like.

·

Wear whatever you want you pay your money you make your choice and fcuk whatever anyone else thinks

·

Seems silly to be worried about what people will think if you wear a smaller watch! Wear what you like 😀

·

I wear my 33-34mms proudly on my 7.25" wrist.
