The next watch will finally make me happy. It's just one more watch and then I'm done. Right? Ok, I know that it's a delusional thought that...
I'd probably go with something that I can actually afford to keep buying 1-2 times per year. Islander watches seem to consistently be coming out with cool new models at pretty decent prices.
I’ve experienced the same thing. On my Islander I actually dremeled the point down a little bit to round it out more. I’ve found that a NATO strap can bring the watch head a little off of the wrist, and therefore make the point dig a little less.
But at this point I think I’ve just accepted that watches with crowns facing my hand just aren’t as comfy / need to be worn with consideration towards the crown placement.
I watched many of the awesome videos hyping up the BB GMT and got sucked into it. So I did end up buying one in December of 2021, and still have it as of now. I have thought about moving it on and trying something else just for fun, but I'll probably just keep it for a long time. It's a bit heavy for me on the bracelet, but I have it on wrist right now as I type this, on its bracelet. 🙂
