The day date conundrum

Good day fellow crunchers!

Iโ€™m looking for date day watch, and have a few considerations..

None of the pictures are mine, all credit to their original sources ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

They are:

1) Tudor prince date day:

Iโ€™m absolutely in love with the linen dial and everything about it. I do have some financial considerations especially with this retailing at around 3k, and the scarcity of these on the market.

2) Bulova Super Seville

Image

Looks great, a watch with history and definitely a bit more wallet friendly.

3) Titoni Cosmo King

More friendly on the wallet, still looks kinda great. Not the biggest fan of the day in short form and the coloured numeral beside it tho itโ€™s something I could get used to.

4) Mido Commander

Love the brand, and how the font and all seems to fit seamlessly on the dial. I am aware that this has a monobloc case and that servicing may pose some issues due to the watch not having a caseback; getting to the movement means having to pop out the bezel and crystal first. Potential headache for vintage watches if Iโ€™m unable to source for a spare crystal or donor watch.

5) Sandoz

Cheapest of the lot, looks just as good!

So here lies my dilemma. I really enjoy the Tudor most out of those I listed, but I am also aware that I have spent way more this year than what I intended to.

Would the others be quality alternatives? For now, Iโ€™m highly considering the Bulova Super Seville besides the Tudor.

For those who have or currently own any of those listed, do share your experiences with them!

Thank you for reading! ๐ŸŽ‰

A Tudor Prince is my dream watch. Iโ€™ve spent countless hours researching alternatives. Iโ€™ve yet to pull the trigger. If made in china is acceptable Iโ€™ve looked at Cadisen a few times.

From my hunting experience I think the Super Seville is a little over valued. So if branding was essential, Iโ€™d look at Mido.

I did consider the mido but servicing may pose an issue in the long run and those monobloc cases are not the easiest to open. Other than that, really cool watch id consider!

Iโ€™m pretty sure the Mido uses an ETA 2834. I wasnโ€™t aware of the case though. Thanks for teaching me something today.

What about a Hamilton Khaki King?

Not quite my type! Looking for something a little more dressy! ๐ŸŒŸ

Another option is a neo-vintage Ricoh

If I had the money Iโ€™d definitely buy the Rolex. Plan B would be the Tudor

I own the Rolex now but have owned the Tudor and it was an excellent watch. I have five other Tudors now. Watch the preowned market and save up. Welcome to the hobby!! I also wish I purchased the Rolex in White Gold...JMO
