Is the Rolex Red GMT that hard to make?

Curious. I watched two videos on YouTube about how the red GMT paint is difficult to produce and the PanAm GMT (aka Pepsi). Suddenly it’s gonna be difficult to get. Obviously it’s an open discussion with full speculation.

If it’s so hard to make, what will happen to the Tudor Diet Pepsi? It’s also red. Will we see vintage fading paint on the Tudor like we do on vintage PanAm watches?

And we also see so many Tudor Diet Pepsi on display and available for purchase. Doesn’t look so difficult to see Tudor pumping out blue/red bezels. Are we hyping exclusive scarcity again?

I remembered when my dad and uncles talked about saving up for a GMT or any Rolex. But now we have to run through another barrier on top of saving our hard earned cash. This FOMO economics is not what we deserve today.

With the present price of around 20,000 usd for the rolex pepsi gmt its too hard to pull the trigger

Rolex has a ceramic bezel, but Tudor uses an aluminum bezel. The ceramic red is the difficult one to produce from what I’ve seen online.

#rolex said it is

Here’s a great WUS thread I started on the topic. It’s probably the only piece of wristwatch media that I’ve seen that explains why ceramic is so fade resistant. And it’s hard to make bc all the best recipes are toxic. Only since rather recently have people been able to make safe red pigments for ceramic. And the pigments used in the clay are better than the paint used on aluminum for reasons.
