Best German Tool Watch? Laco, Damasko or Sinn...

Laco just brought out these wonderful DIN watches, made from 904L steel and built to the exacting standards of the Deutsche Industrie Norme, now known as the German Institute of Standardization. I think they look amazing and great value at 1700 chf and 2300 chf, but at 43.5 mm I'd probably go with the 39 mm Damasko, even without DIN certification, I think their quality is amazing. What would you go with? Have a look at their sites and reviews, they all look good. I'll also post a youtube video a guy did on the Laco.

There is so much info and things to compare, I didn'\t want to write too much in the description. This is a Damasco chrono which could also be compared. I think the Laco looks amazing.

Hi.Laci to me provides all the glance an eye needs - without clutter

·

That Sinn GMT sure is a looker, huh

·

I think sinn has more appealing styles, even though I'm not a fan of the Minecraft hands, but damasko's tech is really something. I wish they would use some more numerals. If they made something in the style of the 556A RS, I think I'd buy it.

·

Love the image for option D 🤣

I have no firsthand experience with these, but I'd throw Guinand into the mix. It's the originally Swiss company Helmut Sinn bought and transferred to Frankfurt after selling his eponymous company.

One thing that drives me nuts with Sinn is their site, it is not very user friendly and no prices, or am I using it wrong?

It's a massive pain, from what I can tell.

It is weird why they have it like that. Defeats the purpose really.

·

I really want to add a Damasko to my collection 💯

·

Me also I think. The black 3 hander, in house, with their bullet proof bracelet.

·

I voted Sinn though I've been really impressed with my Archimede

Under appreciated brand for sure

·

I think Sinn and Damasko make the best German tool watches and are peers - with Sinn edging out the #1 spot due to it's brand heritage. Now with that said - Archimede is the sleeper German brand making some awesome tool and sport watches flying under the radar.

Love my 104 💪

I own pieces from Laco, Sinn and Damasko. I love the new Lacos but I am discouraged from pulling the trigger by their size. Too big for me. A shame really. I love Sinn (apart from their online pages: a poor way to sell good products). I have a DK 32 on my wrist nowdays. I think it is a good watch but it is still under observation. It's in-house caliber has to proove its reliability, in the long run. One thing is for sure: I had to interact with Damasko customer service and it was such a poor experience. They have no idea on how to deal with a customer (even a repetitive one). For that reason I am not going to consider Damasko watches ever again. And that is another shame.

It is indeed. I will post my experience so that other fellow watch lovers can draw their conclusions and build a better picture.

I really was a big fan of Damasko watches. "was"

Bought a brand new watch for 2k€

After a few months of wearing I noticed, that my dial was missprintet, Asymmetrical.

Till this point I never experience a more shitty customer support than from Damasko.

The watch had full guarantee, but after a few calls and Emails, Damasko Rejected the warranty claim and without actually seeing the watch I was told I was imagining the whole thing.

Sold the watch and bought a Sinn instead.

Thanks Alex, that’s put a nail in the coffin of Damasko for me then. I guess if someone really wanted one they could go through Marc at Long Island, he’d sort that stuff out for sure. But shouldn’t have to do that. I’ll most likely get a Sinn down the line. Thanks for the info.! Share some pics of the Sinn 👍🏻

The Willard? Love it.

From the Sinn watch!

I could never really connect to the Willard, but that's the nice thing about the hobby, everyone can buy exactly what they like.

Ah yes, not sure when I will pull the trigger on the Sinn, but finally found a good online site for them. Yes agree and the more you learn the more you appreciate other people's tastes even if not your own 🤝👍

I purchased my Damasko from Mark at Long Island Watch. it was a special order without the AR coating on the outside of the crystal and with a red seconds hand instead of the yellow or white. It was no problem. You can't do that with Sinn.

I think going through Marc ensures you won't have any issues what so ever 👍
