Thinking of the Doxa 200T over the 300

I must admit I am now thinking of the 200T over the classic 300.

I prefer the domed crystal on the 300 and more classic look, but the 200T looks pretty good size wise, James Stacey with 7 inch wrist pictured. And there is the 900 price difference.

What do you guys think?

With a 7 inch wrist I think you could go either way...where you live (lucky!) you should be able to try one on right?

Hi Brian, unfortunately Doxa don't sell through any shops here, so you actually need to go to them. Doable, just a bit of a pain but will prob end up doing so. About 3.5 hours each way.

To me the 200T is too small with a L2L of 42mm, also although it's 39mm diameter, the dial is small by comparison, which would also make it wear small. I don't see what's wrong with the 300T dimensions, the L2L on that is only 45mm

From this pic the 200T look very similar in size to the 300, but agree, the lug to lug may be too small for me:

Go for it GP

I own both and prefer the 200t on my 6.5 inch wrist.

7hrs to see a watch...yeah I'd probably risk it and order it online...I have a 7 inch wrist and would probably go for the classic dimensions...it's all about LL and under 50 should not be an issue at all as @Warrior75 mentioned

·

I dunno if this helps, but this is mine on my 5.5 in wrist. Great watch!

Then, here is the 300T.

My issue with Doxa is their movement, hopefully you have better luck than a few us on WatchCrunch. Had to get it serviced after 3 months and took 3 months to get it back. Don't get me wrong, love the watch, but just wanted to give you a heads up with my experience with them on quality and service which was meh. For reference I have a 6.5" wrist and the Cussler edition 300t..

Got to say the green dial version on the green rubber looks fantastic. But I saw a review a few days ago which criticised the size of the watch face itself. If you think the 39mm is the entire case then the real estate for the bit that tells the time must be quite small once you factor in the bezel. I'd want to see one in real life TBH.

I have the 200T. My wrist is a shade under 6.5. I absolutely love it. Wears amazing!

·

You asked … 200T for me - not enough in it to justify 900 difference - smaller watches are more satisfying anyway and fit in anywhere - also the aquamarine is a sexy little thing

As a recent 300T owner I vote, stick with the 300 if you want that classic domed look. You'll be able wear both easily but I think the 200 might end up feeling a bit smaller than the specs indicate.

Great comparison pick.

I just know that with my 81/2” wrist it can only be the 300T for me

·

I’m so getting it

·

It looks SO nice! But would you guys go with the vladic orange dial or the sunburst orange dial?

·

I have a tiny wrist and I'd go for the 300. It's really doesn't wear as large as the dimensions would suggest.

·

Probably a hard decision. What size is your wrist? I have a 7.25”. I want to get a 300. The 300t is awesome but too thick in my opinion. 200 maybe too small? I need to find an AD.

·

I'm like you, I prefer the look of the domed crystal but the smaller size seems tempting. Would you ever consider having a watchmaker install a domed crystal on a 200t for you?

·

depends on your wrist size.

I'd go 300 (used if the new price deters you) if you have a 7"+ wrist and if you want a more robust, tool feel to your watch.

200T if you're sub-7" wrist or if you prioritize your watch moving with you. the thickness is massive and the 39mm would prob look fine even on a 7.25" wrist.

·

For me it is very small and also with a decrease in specs and that price I think I will stay with the 200 or the 300T

Always the original orange for me 👍

300.

200 in yellow killer

If it were me G.P. I'd wait for the homage 🙂 Sorry, but I do live in Yorkshire!

Seriously though Stu it's the toughest decision and I think it's why I buy homages. I appreciate they aren't everybody's cup of tea and that's fair enough but my quite extensive experience is 100% positive. If I were in your position I'd be leaning towards the 200.

Hope it becomes an easy decision for you somehow bud.

👍🍻
