Bronze Watches: Amazing or Garbage? [Why?]

I'm really looking forward to getting a bronze piece, I'm still not that aware of the pros and cons of that just going off of looks and my love for bronze.

also for those that own the above Glycine Bronze Sub; how's it look/feel/handle?

You know, I wasn't sure if I was going to like a bronze watch, so I got myself an inexpensive bronze watch on AliExpress to see if I would like how the patina develops on bronze. I haven't had it long, but I am liking it so far. If you are not sure, you can find a bronze watch on AliExpress for less than $100.

p.s. don't know about the bronze Glycine, but I had a Glycine in the past that was great. I passed it on to my nephew.

You really can't go wrong with a Glycine ( I currently have one), but I'm also curious to know how their bronze cases patinate, as I'm also looking to get another Combat Sub with a GMT function. I used to be biased against bronze until I saw a Black Bay that had developed a most beautiful patina!

Once patinaed it looks much better than the photo you show.

And no it doesn't smell or turn your wrist green.

I’ve had an oris diver 65 two tons. The bronze had a nice patina. Really regret letting that one go. So I’m a bronze fan.

Agreed. The only reason I don't wear mine, is daily use in 100* heat and dirt means my patina was black-ish, Nurgle levels of weird looking due to sweat etc. So I cleaned it up and only occasionally wear it now lol.

I got a bronze glycine combat sub as a peer pressure buy with a friend who was also getting one 😆

I just want to say if you are ocd about scratches, you may be ocd about bronze patina as well, but individual results could be different. I loved how rose gold colored it was when i took it out of the vacuum sealed plastic but now about 8 months later it has started developing brown streaks around the case and the crown has turned light brown already. Maybe once the full patina has set in and it is a nice even brown color, i wouldnt mind so much.

The wearing experience itself is comfortable and the rubber strap is soft. The case is thin and the lugs curve down. The lume is very poor though and almost non existent on mine. I would still say get it for the price if a bronze experience is what you are after. 😊 i think mine came out to about 500 usd (i paid 30,000 philippine peso for it). Enjoy.

I'm not so enamored by decay, so I enthusiastically agree that garbage is an apt description.

Shame you cleaned it, the Death Guard haven’t been able to tell time since Mortarion lost his clocks…

I have the Heritage Tudor Black Bay Bronze and I love it. I’ve had it for just over two years now and the patina is gorgeous (I think). It’s just a warm and industrial feeling metal and that works for me. And my dog loves it too!

I have had my bronze Combat Sub GL0322 for about 6 months now. It has patinaed slowet than I expected - the crown is darker now, but that is about it. Looks great and very durable. One if my "dress divers."

Bronze watches are awesome, especially that one

My CW Aquitaine is my bronze piece. My first and last. I like it a lot but one is enough for me. If I sweat too much with it on it’ll stain my skin a little but no huge deal. I’ve never done any sort of acid bath to wipe the patina off though I’ve used jewelry wiping cloth to take it off a little bit.

Looks really cool with the blue strap!

I love bronze watches but not for the patina. Polished bronze is beautiful so I'm continually wiping the Cape Cod over mine. I know that this practice is generally frowned upon but we're all different & I don't care 😜
