How long do you really have to wait?

After just 4 months I got the call to pick up the new Datejust with Mint Green dial. Very happy and excited!

Since I only had to wait 4 months and for my first Rolex about 1.5 years ago I had to wait around 7 months I was wondering if I‘m just lucky or if the “long“ wait isn’t real?

(That does not include Daytonas, Pepsis and so on)

I've luckily had fairly short waits.  Certainly nothing for me to complain about in that department.

Last year: Six weeks, two months, four months.

This year: nine months.

You, sir, are a lucky duck :) and I didn’t correct autocorrect just there :D

Joking aside, you have a wonderful collection of Rolii….

Wow beautiful Datejust! Congrats! I think you are a little lucky my man

You must be 'minted'.  Beautiful watch.

Congratulations. Crunchers really do anything to have the correct watch for WRUW shots, huh? Love to see it on #greenfridays. 😛😁

Beautiful watch, congrats!

This is a beautiful watch, congratulations!

Beautiful! Wish I could afford one. Congrats!!!

Congrats!  My plan was to wait until next year to get on a list.  But now, you're making me reconsider.  All I want is a OP. Should be easy, right?

If not before, definitely now.

To get a new Rolex at retail I wouldn’t mind waiting up to a year. It would be a watch I’m keeping forever and handing down. A year is nothing compared to that. I’d be willing to wait so I can get it brand new and not have to pay way over retail.

I’ve been waiting a few months now for this mint green on jubilee/fluted bezel. My first Rolex (green OP) was a wait of around 3 weeks. But I haven’t been ’playing the game‘ this year. The popular advice is to keep visiting your AD and staying in touch every week or so blah.

I don’t have time for all that and I’m happy to keep my money in my pocket until the day I do get a call 😅

·

Congratulations on your new watch :) regarding waiting lists, i think 4 months is about right :)

·

Congrats! You never know with list. Glad it worked out for you.

I agree.

At the local AD, where I have no history of buying anything, I was quoted 3 years for an Explorer. I am 4 months into that, but my expectation is that unless I start buying other pieces from that AD, my wait will be limitless.
