9000 ad, 4000 Chrono. End up same price as a twelve skeleton

Had a Zelos Swordfish and had a couple of CW's & I'd never have another Zelos, one of the few watches I had that had no redeeming features, really didn't like it!! Really don't get the hype for them ..

That’s wild. I thought it would be around 2k, which also is expensive IMO

·

Are you price testing, a hypothetical situation? I believe CW in bracelet is just under $5k USD. But judging by opinion even 3.5k is too steep.

No it is 3500 Hkd I assume it is 3500 usd maybe it is closer to 4k

I had the hype of almost buying the 12 skeleton but for that price I could buy a brand new Tudor coke. Then Facebook showed me the zealos which I thought was over priced but looking at it now I think that’s a better buy

For 2 k I would buy it in a heartbeat

Not keen on skeletons, but if you look at what has gone into making the CW, you will see it is well worth it. Plus the 5 day power reserve. And remember it is no more than 3 x production cost.

you poll has options at "usd". Hence why i corrected. I think the majority of WC mentally work with usd.

Sure tell me what is price in usd and I would correct my poll just trying to highlight price difference

·

That Zelos dial is a mess.

You've had many votes based on the above options. so should just let it run. If you want a more realistic comparison based on usd price, run the poll again in future. I think there's a lot of difference in price via different currency, so you should look it up usd for both, as zelos will also have different value in usd.

Where‘s the proof for that claim though? If it’s less than 3x production cost, then their production must not be very cost-effective.

Not sure what you mean. The owner promised they won’t charge more than 3 x production cost of a watch. They do this by cutting out middle men. Many / most companies charge a lot more than 3 x.

I find both difficult to read, although I haven’t seen them in the metal

A promise by a company that wants to earn money doesn’t mean much to me. Also what do they consider under production cost? Their watches aren’t really superior to some other watches in their price range in my opinion. Some German brands like Circula, Sinn and especially Nomos are at least on par with CW for me. Don’t get me wrong, I like some of the Cristopher Ward offerings and I would buy one, but the claim that they are better value for money than other brands is not the reason. The claim only seems true when comparing CW to large Swiss and Japanese manufacturers I think.

They are certainly priced well under Sinn in general. I think the CEO would be foolish to make such a claim unless true. I personally believe him, maybe I am naive 😬

I meant at the same price point you get similar value for money at Sinn/Nomos and CW.

Example: Club Campus vs C63 GMT. Nomos also has great build quality, 99% in-house manufacturing and a beautifully decorated in-house movement.

For Sinn, you‘re probably right that the mark-up is a slightly higher, but definitely not by the factor that CW claims. Example: Sinn 556 (1325€) vs C63 Sealander (1040€) - both on the bracelet. But with Sinn you get a top-grade SW-200 (not just elaboré) and a network of retailers where you can try the watch on and come back to in case of any problems.

Maybe it’s just my German bias though 😂🤷🏻‍♂️Anyway, I‘d still love a C63 GMT because it looks great and is sturdy
