The Best Intangibles for a Watch Brand?

What, in your opinion, is the best aspect of a watch brand that has nothing to do with the product they sell?

Voted B, but B & C

I voted C because I really like the ideology behind Christopher Ward and their transparency about how much they mark up their watches, disguised as a critic of the Swiss-made industry.

I like a disruptive actor showing that you can make something great without the luxury price tag and greed. Good ethics and respect for the customers.

voted A because that’s the only thing that affects me personally. I’ve worked client facing for the past decade, so I know how important it is to maintain strong relations (even when you wanna scream sometimes).

"A" because (B) heritage and reputation are built on customer support. Ethics are also built into "A" but I'm not interested in "sustainability" virtue signaling.

For micro brands I look for ones based in the US first but not exclusively.

To me a HUGE intangible is the Brand name ..i wont buy certain watches even though they are well made and great looking. For example i wont but Oris or Dufrane ..they make gorgeous watches ..The name has to click wth me and not be a negative ..oris sounds too close to orifice and Dufrane ..too close to doofus..choosing a marketable name for a watch is extremely important .

To add to my point when you wear a watch that name shown reflects on you ...its as if the watch is part of you ..thus the name is something you are at minmum comfortable representing you ..

All of the listed factors need consideration and they are important to me but I also try not to buy a model or even brand of watches that I have seen on the wrists of persons with whom I have had very egregious experiences with which can be professional, business or even casual. I can accept any criticism for that failing but that is my personal wiring!

I voted D.

All things being equal, I'll choose a watch that is less common. When I was choosing between a Sinn 556 and Damasko DS30, the fact the Damasko was less common was a big factor in the end.

When buying almost anything I hate buying the popular choice, as it just makes you another one of the crowd.

In Canada Honda used to market the Civic as the most popular car in Canada, and it turned me off the brand entirely.

The customer service is a close second for me. If anything, a good customer service can influence me enough to buy their products

I feel the same with Oris...I like since of their designs but the brand name/logo were off-putting to me
