Thoughts on Ladder Bracelet

Interested in thoughts on a ladder bracelet - I have done a quick and dirty mock-up of the Forstner Ladder on a Unimatic U4 which I would intend to put it on. Not tried a ladder style bracelet before so interested in any opinions on comfort / wearability as much as the style choice (which I appreciate is always going to be personal).

Never done one either, but I imagine it would work similar to a rally strap.

I think it works with the Unimatic.

They're nice to look at. They feel "cheap" just because it's so light. Here's the forstner on my ZRC:

It would be down to contact area in that smaller contact area against skin will not be as comfortable and leave indents in your wrist.

This picture is the first one I have ever thought ladder bracelet works. Great!

Cool imho 😎💪🏼

Love a ladder bracelet!

Love Forstner bracelet's full stop.

I wear one of my vintage DS-2's on a Forstner Ladder.

That Unimatic would look great on the Forstner Rivet too I reckon. It's my favourite of the Forstners.

Looks great on the ZRC.

And that jangly vintage feel is a big part of why I like Forstner bracelets. I find them more wearable than many of the bracelets on my modern watches.

I think - a long with the downwards trend in diameter - a number of brands have reduced the depth of their bracelets - something I appreciate about the current Speedie and Longines Spirit range.

As a lover of all things Zenith and Gay Freres I like the ladder bracelet a lot, especially during those long, hot summers. Looks great on the Unimatic!

In the pic the bracelet looks great with the Unimatic. I think that is as much to do with the black material you've placed the watch on, it really compliments the black dial, as the style of the bracelet though.

Tried one on Zenith. Nothing wrong with it but I didn't like the look. If the hands are hairy it is even worse

Will take a look at that too - thanks

First caught my attention on the Zenith Defy Revival Shadow in fact - a big fan of that watch.

Thanks Chris - it's actually just a crude mockup, the base photo is from Forstner's website (or the UK one at least) and I have pasted on the U4 watch to get an idea of the look.

I don’t personally own one myself but it just oozes cool! The 60’s/70’s truly were the golden age of watch AND bracelet design! And yeah, I know the older stuff felt “cheap” because it was mostly folded steel, but I wish more current watch manufacturers put more effort into their bracelets

·

Cool. Didn’t know Fortsber had one.

I know this is an old post, but that looks very fitting on that watch.

I don’t have a ladder bracelet but I want to get a couple of the ~$35 ones on eBay. Looks liek it woudl be good for summer.
