Wempe London closing - Bond Street very different
Very surprised to hear today that Wempe are closing their Bond Street London store. Although a large company they are one of the few remaining independents. It feels a bit sad to see them go, particularly as I have always found them to be very friendly and customer focussed. The article in WatchPro (linked below) gives some interesting commentary on the changes in Bond Street, possibly more relevant to those of us in the UK but also does give some "things for thought" around the main brands generally.
Bond Street has always been a pretty unusual / unique location and I suspect change will continue, particularly with Fenwick (major independent department store) closing their doors next year.
