sold some pieces that weren’t getting wrist time in order to fund my first “luxury” piece. i went with a used quartz grand seiko, ref sbgx061. kind of an early xmas present for myself, although i am hoping to get some 19mm straps as presents so i can try it out on leather
good choice :)
as you mentioned in my recent post, we seem to gravitate towards the same types of watches and have a similar buying philosophy. this is the closest i’ll probably ever get to a sub (at least anytime soon) and it’s truly a great watch. if i wasn’t such a “watch nut”, this could easily be my “one watch collection” piece.
I love the Lorier. The proportions are just perfect for a good daily. Definitely 1016 inspired, but also draws heavily on the Railmaster. I would argue the Falcon could be a great daily for a lot of people. Just so dang versatile. I wear the SPB quite a bit, 40.5mm is on the upper end of my size preference, but it dimensions have never bothered me. it wears smaller (and thinner) than the specs suggest. Although it’s close to the most expensive watch I own, it gets used sort of like a “beater”. I have recently had my eyes on the SPB317, which could potentially replace the 143 in the core 4
your wedding ring isn’t a part of your “outfit”. it’s a part of you!!
i have a rose gold ring and no rose gold watches.
wear what you love
if you have interest in the nodus sector gmt, i have a catch and release near mint condition in the “metro” colorway that i’m interested in selling. beautiful watch, but looking to sell a few to fund another watch purchase.
