I love Mario Kart but that's not a Mario Kart watch, that's a tag heuer with Mario kart stickers on it.

Tag should probably reissue or resurrect something from their past. Given how everyone is going mad for GMTs, why not bring back the Airline in steel with the Sellita GMT movement and integrated bracelet? Or the Pilot? Hell I would even take a reissue of the 1000, anything other than this.

At just shy of £6k though? Monaco‘s have gotten very expensive that it’s hard to justify the point of entry. As much as I like the Monaco and it’s presence in the zeitgeist as a cool watch, you could buy a Hanhart and a Bullitt Benrus and have change to re-kit your wardrobe in Barbour International Steve McQueen everything else. You could even change your name by deed poll to Steve McQueen. Plus Monaco’s should be blue with the rally strap, sorry.

I immediately thought of you when I saw this.  The only thing I like about this is the date wheel which is a nice nod to the question boxes.  Everything else didn't go anywhere near far enough.  

Like one of the subdials needs to be rainbow road or something.

It’s a missed opportunity; I like the Monopoly F1 because it’s absolutely for madlads such as myself. If I had the opportunity that thing goes on my wrist. This is just… bland. It needs more. Mario Kart is fun and insane, this is bland and utilitarian, like it’s Red Bull Racing. Plus it’s far too much money.

Well to be fair I feel the same way about Omegas snoopy crap and I remember seeing a dominos pizza rolex which im not sure if that was rolex’s doing or dominos but my God its awful. 
I think all these collabs need to stop they are kind of embarrassing.. :/

You are right, for £6k there are lots of other options. And I think colour choices are very personal..it’s all good 🍻

Collabs that are done correctly should be encouraged. I’d offer up Undone some of the Timex collabs as an example of how to do it right, you either have to commit or just don’t bother. Adding a few stickers to the dial and putting an M on the crown does not a Mario Kart watch make. Blue Shell Tag… get to the back of the grid.

It is handsome, but it’s not “right” to me. You want timeless Monaco you go blue. Appreciate that is massively subjective, but this is what most chaps want to feel like when they wear the Monaco…

Well, it's a little know fact that in the new Mario movie starring Chris Pratt, he will be wearing the Tag Mario cart watch.

I think it's cool, and as one who plays a lot of video games I really think it'd be nice to have, but why Tag Heuer? Timex, Casio, etc would have been better for your target audience. You know, all ages. Ones that don't have $4000-$25000 to spend on a Mario watch?

I’m 100% with you on this one - I also try to love TH. They have SO much potential and they go and do this……

I love TAG and Mario but when I got sent the pre-order I too said “why”. 
The last couple of TAG releases have me a little worried. Not feeling the new Carrera Porsche or Aqua Racer with the Blue/White bezel either.

I wish I'd bought one of those Dominos Air Kings when people couldn't give them away...  That would be $1k well spent on "what the hell?  Is that a Rolex?" reactions.
