Choosing an Aqua Terra - which dial colour?

Hi, I think I have decided to go ahead with an Aqua Terra purchase.

I have been trying on both the 38mm and 41mm version and currently I am leaning towards the 38mm.

In terms of colour I am trying to choose between the Blue and White faces.

The main thing I want is the ability to dress the watch up or down. I'm hoping to use it casually with chinos and a shirt, and to still be able to wear it with a suit if required (I would get it with both the bracelet and with a leather strap).

What are people's opinions about the best dial colour?

Thanks

Terracotta is absolutely beautiful and when it inevitably drops to around $4k in grey or slightly used prices, I look forward to grabbing one.

I‘be been looking at the 41mm with the white dial, green markers, and orange second hand. So vote would be for the white dial.

·

Apologies, my original message stated white dial, I think it is actually a silver dial.

The two I’m looking at are:

I love my 38mm white/ silver.  It’s so versatile with leather or steel

To be fair, in person it goes from white to silvery white. Great sheen , but not too much

If it’s versatility you’re after then 100% get the white. Its one of the many reasons I adore my Avenger GMT. Nothing and nowhere it doesn’t go. 🤍

I think the red dial is beautiful, but my white dial is very versatile and draws many compliments. Overall the AT is a very attractive watch, few bad choices.

I keep mine on rubber for business casual or everyday wear and put it on a grey alligator if I want to dress it up.

The steel dial with blue accents is perfect for my wardrobe. I wear a lot of blue, but it would go with just about any color scheme.

Of these two, I would go with the blue. I think in person you would find that the indices "pop" a bit more and the dial is going to have such a gorgeous radiant sunburst to it that I don't think the white one will exhibit. But, I have only seen the blue in person, not the white.

Going to be in Las Vegas this week and looking forward to stopping in the Omega Boutique so I can see the colors in person and also check the size. 38mm is usually too small for me

At the Bellagio?

I went got a blue dial, it's great on the rubber as a sports watch and when on a blue leather is great as a work watch. Such a versatile piece.

Yes

The answer is always light and small.

·

I'll always recommend the dark dial, then again my collection could use a pop of light and bright.

·

I think the silver or white mother of pearl dials give you the most clothing color options that it will look good with.  I love the red, green and yellow dials but I can't see wearing those colors often enough to justify them.

·

Interestingly enough, I’m right there with you. I’ve been looking at various watches for several months and think I’ve finally narrowed down to the AT as well.

For me, it’s white dial all day. Which is somewhat a problem. The look I like most is the white you are picking between but I’d prefer going to a 42. they Don’t make that style in 42 And I’m not sure I like the small seconds version enough to buy.

This one would be my choice if I was considering a AT.

I’d go with the blue dial. Omega blues just pop but are classy at the same time. I am a bit biased tho, as I have the blue Seamaster diver 300m and absolutely love the blue.

That new(er) green dial looks pretty slick as well!

·

Great choice. I have a 38 Good Planet blue and white.

my wife wears it as much if not more than I do.

enjoy  your new time piece

Green 41 or the new 38 sandstone

My recommendation is if you plan to keep it on the bracket, go for a colored dial (blue, red, green, etc) so it pops. If you plan to wear a lot of straps with it, I’d go with a neutral color (white, black, silver). Just depends on what you’d like to highlight, the watch dial or the watch strap.

·

White would be the most versatile. Blue seems hard to match with certain things. This is main reason I never went with any blue faced watches.

·

There's a good chance you already have blue, white, and even grey watches. I bet you don't have terra-cotta

·

I would get the white.

Could this be one of the few exceptions that there might be a shortage and it goes over retail?

I think it is highly unlikely. If they continue to copy Rolex with the AT and shut it down after two years of production, maybe, but like the Seamaster and other ATs, I have a feeling they’ll pump out as many as they can sell.

The other aspect is how quickly common Omegas end up at grey dealers. All that said, with it still being early in the production cycle, I haven’t seen many hit the after market, so who knows.
