Best Integrated Bracelet Watch. “That is not an AP Royal Oak.”

Howdy Crunchers. I have a friend that is getting into the addiction *clears throat, I mean hobby. He’s going to be getting a seiko 5 as his first ever mechanical watch and is already looking at various brands for his first sub $1k watch. He said he’s already fancying the Royal Oak as his grail watch. Unfortunately that’s not in the cards for him right now so I’ve been educating him to the world of respectable homages. Can ya’ll help me out and decide which do you think is the best integrated watch that he can obtain? Think all around value, aesthetic, and brand equity. Thanks! ⏱️🤙🏻

CW The Twelve is a really good option. The dial has texture is stunning for the price point. I would totally suggest this watch as the one for him to look into the most seriously. And I think the poll is right so far.

I own and thus vote for the Tudor Royal although I know it is a polarising design. I also have the Tissot PRX and Nivada Grenchen F77; both don’t wear as well as the Royal. I find the Maurice Lacroix Aikon a little too chunky.

You can take a look at Frédérique Constantine and Maen, as well.

Vacheron 222

@warchest obtainable my friend.

I think It all depends on how much he want to spend: prx 400/775; cw12 1200, aikon 2100.

The Aikon Is the most similar by design, but the prx quartz Is already a very good watch (I own one).

Check out the Yema Urban Traveller or Nivada F77.

Oris Aquis

Because it doesn't look Genta 😁👍🏻

@Inkitatus He actually just realized that he likes Genta inspired designs. Lol

Yema Urban Traveler.

Just tell him to wait and keep looking around. His "grail" will change ten times before he saves up for something that expensive.

That being said, any of those options is good, if he likes it and it fits.

Plus: Maen Manhattan (37 auto or 40 manual)

Many in the "affordable" range like the PRX and Citizen Tsuyosa

Even the new Yema Urban Traveller is relatively affordable

But for something our of the ordinary, I recommend the Creux Automatiq Diamondback with its gorgeous dial pattern which matches its bracelet links

GP Laureato…my dream grail watch ( not mine on picture unfortunately)

I’d echo the sentiments above to go with the Maen, F77, or cw 12 and skip the Seiko 5 if that’s what he really is interested in. Also, it’s okay to dream big, but it’s probably too early to be thinking of grail watches - taste evolves and it’s good to try some lower priced stuff out in person to understand what really connects before thinking about the end goal

I'm so tired of hearing about the PRX.

@joepa70 you’re on the wrong post my friend. 🤣

Frederique Constant Highlife

Baume and Mercier Riviera with the Baumatic movement

Three even worse alternatives to a watch design that I don’t like much. So, none of these. The Direnzo Mondial is kinda cool though.
