Another full-page ad in today's main section of the WSJ, with "selected stores only" at the bottom of the ad. It's working as designed.
Apparently this is a case where people are messing with a flipper and will back out of the purchase.
Wild. I'm sure I have something I can put on eBay with a $1m buy-it-now. Just need a prominent watch blog to write some articles to generate buzz...
To be fair though, the postage is reasonable, all things considered.

I'm almost certain that listings like that are made by flippers, or grey market dealers, who are just trying to set an anchor point. Then, when they have one to sell for $1000 it sounds like a deal to an uneducated buyer.

So long as no one is holding a gun to the bidder's head, it's a voluntary transaction, and therefore it is Pareto efficient, and the world is a better place for it. I hope the seller makes $100k, and I hope the buyer loves the watch.

Never thought i would see a throw away Omega. Non serviceable hard plastic. The bio part is plastic. Good part is when the market floods with them i could afford an Omega. Discount luxury

Same here. It's priced cheap enough to own. Tho, I am not remotely excited enough to take a day off from work, drive an hour and half to wait in line for said privilege. I'll wait.

FWIW, here is a screen capture from Instagram where Swatch has replied that the watches are not limited, and "will be available online at a later date".

Prediction: Nobody will pay 60,000 for that watch.
As someone who just picked up the 3861 sapphire sandwich moonwatch, I'm a bit worried that these moonSwatches may devalue the classic mechanical Speedies.
This likely won't have a long-term effect on Omega Speedmasters, but the flippers will try and control the early market on these Swatches and it may generate some hate towards what is otherwise an iconic timepiece.

I don’t think it will have any effect whatsoever on the value of your speedy….the Moonswatch and the Moonwatch are so far apart in price point.
Give it a week or two for people to have posted the Swatch on their IG accounts….normal service will resume.

I have always thought that about the Moonwatch to be honest, and once you see it…cannot un-see it. 😂
Seen one my self was not that impress. I love Swatch and love Omega but these two in collaborating like this for that kind of quality and price complete bummer man!
