SOTC: A Collection of Collections

Reflecting on the State of My Collecting as one does on the anniversary of one's trip around the sun (or is that just me?) and I thought it would be fun to see how many themed collections I could make with my watches.

After I hit 15, I thought "Well, I could go forever at this rate." so I figured I'd better define a collection and I settled on 3 watches being a collection. You can say 2 watches is a collection if you want (and I have in the past), but I'm now going with the minimum as being 3 watches.

I still ended up with 26 sub-collections.

Did I miss any? How many sub-collections can you make out of your main collection?

Edit: I missed a Timex collection (forgive me @TimexBadger) and a Citizen Collection (which probably isn't one, since the two red Dial Citizens are Mumbai Specials).

Blue dial collection, FTMFW!

Yeah, that's probably my best 3 watches

If two is a collection? My in-house collection, my automatic collection, my sapphire collection, my coated/plated collection, my swiss collection, my gada collection, my everyday collection, and and so on 😅

Anyways, way to go 🥳

Now, now, don't get jealous of my seemingly infinite collections. 😉😂

That's just the (poor) lighting. That top half is in shadow, but a neat pic anyway.

Hmm.

Digital - teen years - inherited - dive - vintage - dress - gifts - chrono - gimmick/novelty - broken - steel - resin - auto - gold/two tone - black dial - light dial - Casio - analogue Quartz — and I think that’s it. Can squeeze few more in with duos (Timex) and technically broken is a duo at this time. Also ladies/unwearable is a bit of a hand wiggle since they’re mine, but I can’t wear them (and fit in inherited anyway) so they really belong to my wife. That’s what… eighteen/nineteen sub collections in a box that contains space for eight working watches, with a couple squeezed in non-defined spaces. 😆

(And Happy Birthday dude.)

Happy birthday. You are a legend!!

I have a single collection of watches I've spent too much on. I'm waiting for a Speedmaster to replace some of your mini collections.
