Is this the BEST WATCH EVER for you ??

The Paul Newman Effect

Paul Newman's personal Rolex Daytona, given to him by his wife Joanne Woodward, not only epitomized his cool and casual style but also became one of the most sought-after watches among collectors. The exotic dial Daytona, ref. 6239, fetched a staggering $17.8 million at auction in 2017, underscoring its status as a horological and cultural treasure.

If you only had to choose only one watch, it would be this one ?

Not for me

This watch singlehandly (along with PP Tiffany) ruined fair pricing and availability of watches for common public.

·

nope, i prefer this one

Nope…

Nope

No! In fact I have met very few Daytona owners who love the watch because of what it is as a watch.

·

No 😂

If I HAD to pick a ‘grail watch’, would be something like this:

I cannot just choose one but if I had to this would probably be it.

It’s a nice watch, but no.

Pass

·

Nope, not even close.

·

I appreciate what it is. The money is insane, and for me there are many other watches that "do it" for me substantially more.

·

Not that one

·

Not that one. And not even a Rolex either. But, I would need time to be able to choose The One.

·

The best watch is in the eye's of the beholder. What some my think is the best watch ever others will pick something else. Each to their own. Choose what makes you happy. In my eye's this not. Because, only when Paul Newman had this watch why it became famous. I heard you couldn't give these watches away back in the day.. sorry for the essay lol

No….but this has more to do with the fact that’s a chronograph than anything. The “exotic dial” Daytona’s are beautiful in their own right but I would never have one as my only watch….i think of it like driving a Lamborghini Countach everyday…NOPE! Give me an Accord/Civic. It’s does the job and does it well

·

Well, an updated, modern version of this exact colorway?…..yeah maybe. Something about the look does it for me.

·

No it wouldn't isn't this the most expensive one as he had 3 given to him all engraved with a message on the case back by his wife if I remember correctly.

·

No way.

·

No

·

Nope, prefer the junghans or hanhart. I think this one for the fanboy of the one of owners, not the watch itself.

·

Over the last 24 years I’ve owned 4 speedmasters and I’ve sold them on sometimes to get “better watches “ but I always come back to them I had occasion to wear this one day and night for just over three months last year and I know that this is my watch. If I won the lottery I’d be spending a large part on watches but the speedy would always be “my watch” I wouldn’t swop it for any other

NAAAAAA I don't think so
