AD Experience

I went to a jeweller for non-watch related business, got the golden treatment. The associate was very attentive and pleasant, as though I was the only person there. After we discussed the other business, she let me try on as many watches as I wanted. She complimented my taste in watches, but I think she had to. Kind of like going to grandma's and being told you're her special little man.

I asked about the Breitling Aerospace, and she said the blue dial version I wanted was discontinued at the moment, but it's looking to be re-released eventually. She's going to see if she can source one for me, I hope she can find one. The black dial version is still available to order.

What really surprised me was that they had a few Rolex models available. One guy walked in after me and bought one, no waiting list or games. She asked if I wanted to try them on, I told her they probably wouldn't have the only one that interests me. She asked, "Which one?" I told her it was the Sky Dweller. She just smiled and said, "Wait right there." A minute later, she walks out with this:

They had just gotten it, she said I could have it today if I wanted! Alas, I'm not big on two toned watches, so I passed. I'm also financially challenged in that regard. Still, I was very impressed with their inventory and how they treated me. I didn't even buy anything and they still gave me a few watch catalogs to take home. It was pretty far from me, but glad I made the trip.

If you're near the armpit of America, I highly recommend Leonardo Jewelers in Metuchen, NJ.

I’ve bought a few watches and some jewelry from there. They have always been so nice and helpful. I never felt any pressure to buy anything. I’ve always worked with Chris. We talk watches and he’s always let me try on anything. Couldn’t recommend more.

How did you manage to walk out the door with your wallet intact. That skydweller 😍

I'm definitely going back. Glad to hear you had a great experience also! I never felt pressured either. The best AD/boutique I've been to so far.

It wasn't easy! Especially the pink Grand Seiko, that was my favorite from this trip. I told the lady to give me a call if they get the blue dial Sky Dweller, but I didn't want to go on a waiting list.

What a coincidence. I might get it today. Will make a post if I manage to bring it home today. Fingers crossed.

I was expecting the "We have nothing to sell" and "look at those earrings for your wife" story. I will stop by the next time I am in NJ.

The skydweller is my dream Rolex. Too bad ill probably never be able to get one. The aerospace on the other hand, I've been waiting for the updated version to come out but realistically I'd be very happy with the latest version they have now.

You’re the 2nd one I’ve heard of in the last couple days that said an AD had several Rolex models available to purchase on the spot. Times are changing.

I wasn't even there for watch hunting, but they had a good inventory. They also had plenty of #iwc, #oris, and #tudor.

Same, unless I get one pre-owned. I've been on the hunt for the Aerospace for awhile now, three different stores in different states. I'm curious what the new ones will look like.

They filled about half of the display counter, which is still more than most stores in the past few years. Hopefully increased availability also means decreased prices.

Have you been to the shop in Red Bank? I was going to take a peek next time I went on a Saturday so the wife can check out a big bronze Oris.

I haven't yet but they're also on my list. I'll see if I can make it this week and let you know. They close at 5:45 so it's hard to get there and really get a good look around. I saw one in Metuchen so even if they don't have it there they can always get it from the other store.
