Outfit change? Watch change!

Do you find yourself changing your watch when you change your outfit? I just got home from work, in which I wear a suit to the office. I’ve been given orders by the gf to pick up a rotisserie chicken from Costco. Clearly, I ain’t wearing a suit for that errand. So I throw on some shorts and a t-T-shirt. Off comes the Cartier Tank, and on goes the Breitling Endirance Pro! What do you guys do?

Absolutely yes, all the time

Lol I’m glad to know I’m not the only one. I’ve got my daily wear watch but I’m my briefcase I have either a GShock or another Casio that I’m ok with getting banged up if I have to move stuff around at work. Then when I get home whatever other comfortable watch I’ve got on my bedside table.

·

I wear whatever. And I don't wear "outfits".

No matter what clothes I have on there is no connection with the watch I'm wearing.

·

Getting that roto chicken is serious business. You gotta roll in with a suit and your tank to show everyone you’re on a mission 🤣

·

Do you put your shirts on backwards too?

·

I do tend to change my watch with a Change of clothes because I change my clothes when I change activities.

I’m sure many people agree with you. I happen to enjoy fashion so changing out watches is part of the fun for me in watch collecting.

Not yet. But I’ve seen this community put on their watches inside out/backwards. So you never know!

The watch and suit change cost you 30 minutes 🤣

You should have shown up in the suit and demanded your dang chicken!

I had to change because I rode my scooter to Costco for this darn bird!

I think you are one of the few that can appreciate fashion and watches together!

Haha it definitely reflects my attitude to the topic😁

I think that's one of many stupid reasons I owned a lot of watches, so I can rotate between them to my heart's content

·

Well, I don't have too many dressy watches, and I don't dress in more formal clothes that often. I'm a massage therapist, so most of my time is spent in khakis or nice shorts and a polo, so tool watches fit that aesthetic. But yeah, if I'm wearing nice clothes, like to go to Church, then yeah, I'll usually have a nice watch on as well and when I change my clothes after Mass, I'll put on a dive watch or something less like a dress watch.

·

Yup, but I don’t wear a watch around the house usually.

·

Yip all the time. One to work, one at home, different watch for the garage etc. Essy 2-3 per day!

·

I used to do this often wearing suits to work. I will say that since its been hotter out, Ive been wearing more casual pieces to work to compliment my "summer work wear" and reserve the suits for more important work engagements.

You’re so right. A lot of us are guilty.

It’s just nice to elevate your outfit or event and vice versa if you’re doing an activity where a tool watch comes in handy and/or looks nice.

As watch collectors, I think it gives us a reason (excuse) to wear different watches.

All day, everyday. I work in Healthcare Technologies and handle IV machines, ventilators, incubators, etc. top-to-bottom. My G-Shock 5600 has been my daily for 16+ years. When I get home, I grab whatever the mood strikes me or what the evening calls for. As for weekends if I'm at home I'll start with a beater, then depending on the days activities and wardrobe I'll pair the watch accordingly. We are definitely in the same boat, my friend!

I've just worn that sporty color combination today

I was beginning to think it was just me that pairs my collecting of watches and appreciation of fashion to coordinate outfits when possible or appropriate to the setting.

Nope, you are perfectly normal!

·

I just love choosing my outfit according to the watches! Hell, I even bought a pair of red converse to match one of my timepieces 😂

But sometimes I see people just not caring, having 10000 dollars on the wrist and just wearing whatever.

Now, of course they do whatever they want, but I think that this part of the hobby is one of my favourite, to find combinations of colors and form to match your watch!

Totally agree! If people notice…. Great. If they don’t, that’s fine too. But at least I feel good!
