NWA - King Seiko SPB283J1

Thanks to everyone who voted on my poll. Easter Sale has arrived at the local Seiko AD, so I pulled the trigger and I absolutely love the little beast...

Stepping into entry level luxury watches.

I prefer the King Seiko because... it is a King Seiko (makes any sense?), but I am curious what would you guys choose.

One watchbox, three mini-collections

Three of my favorite watch brands: Atlantic, Hamilton, and the most loved - and hated - of them all; Seiko.

It does not add thickness to the watch, however the keepers area seems thicker than the watch itself, with 4 layers of material on top of each other.

Tried both with water and some lubricant. It had no effect whatsoever, or maybe the fluid did not even reach the friction area.

If watch comparisons were so obvious, such communities wouldn't even exist (they exist because everyone tries to prove that he made the best choice, they are fundamentally based on disagreement, not consensus). The fact is, when you look at your San Martin on your wrist, you see an awesomely finished watch, but when you look at your Rolex, you see God's hand. That is the essence of this comparison, I believe.

I paid 1550$. Not a huge discount, but enough to pull me in.

Yeah, my AD was trying to upsell me a GS, and they ALWAYS say the watch I am interested in has just been received in stock, although I know precisely the truth as I am checking daily their stocks online.

The GS was tempting though.

Good luck with your future 143!

I would sell the TAG, Glashutte, Tudor, and MontBlanc from only one perspective: those are the watches I'd wear the least out of the bunch.
