Which Microbrand/Independent watch to add?

Question for the hive mind....

I'm looking to add one piece to my microbrand/indy collection, which new one should I select to add?

It will have to be something on the larger side, say 42-44mm. This of course is due to my wrist size, smaller stuff generally doesn't work for me at all. I'm open to try just about anything, this will be a hive mind experiment watch.

Oh, and it has to be something available because it will be happening fairly quickly once something is identified.

Its a very pretty watch!

Pretty, relatively affordable, not too small, and a little different.

Why not REC. 43mm and12,3 thick. Partly built from motorcycle parts.

Circula Titanium 500m I'm getting one for Christmas! A brand with a lot of history and those diver has great specs and a modern design for not unreasonable money. 42mm and quite chunky but Titanium so very light.

I like that Dan Henry a lot. I tried to get a different model from DH a while back and they were sold out...going to check out this one for sure.

Very cool and reminiscent of the Von Dutch watches from about 20 years ago.

I have a Christopher Ward, an Isotope and a Bausele. All very good 👍

This?

Magrette Moana Pacific Professional Titanium. I love the looks, but at 44mm and the somewhat cushiony shape just a tad too large for me. But should fit you well I guess!

·

Elliot Brown Holton Professional? Thanks to @solidyetti, it’s been added to my list of potential next purchases. It’s 43mm, has been issued to the British military, and appears to be indestructible.

Spinnaker Spence or Hass

But does a company that produces, at retail, not wholesale to jewelers, over a billion US dollars of product a year really qualify as a “micro” brand?

I love Parigiani, a Tonda is a grail, but micro brand? 😁

As Emily Letella would say, “never mind.” 😂

I don’t think your math works if they did a billion a year in revenue and make 3k watches a year that means they would have to sell each watch at about $333,000.00 each.

A micro brand is defined by the number of watches they produce a year and are typically independently owned. Whether they sell through retailers or not has no bearing

***Update***

I looked at every recommendation you guys made and I have selected a watch! The watch I selected will be revealed in due course, stay tuned to find out which one I picked!

Thanks again, you guys rock!

Vario of course

Christopher Ward or Nth. I don’t know much about Vaer but some of their pieces look nice.

Here on WatchCrunch, maybe we could learn from Emily and say "Never mind" - not every time like she did, but just once in a while, you know.

I wonder what watch Emily wore??

Check this out John.

I wear watches 40mm-46mm. 8 in wrist here. Great watch, cost and specs are right in there.

I favor Isotope Watch co from the UK. Unique limited edition quality watches with Swiss movements and excellent water resistance.

·

I just purchased my fifth Maratac.

I'll check it out as I am going to add one more micro next year.

Very biased, local (to Maryland, USA) selection, but a good and interesting one. Only a 40, but wears well on larger wrists.

I’ve got a Pilot watch from them, just to show you the look on my, fairly large, wrist:

I prefer large watches, too, but the 40mm Jack Mason Strat-o-timer (dark knight) looks and wears great - and has the best, most comfortable jubilee bracelet I've ever owned.

This one gets my vote
