SOTC

It’s Friday and I’m in a good mood so I’m blessing you all with the greatest SOTC that my money can buy. You’re welcome. I have no glorious stories about my watches, just some quippy remarks and commentary.

Top Row - The Dailies

Image

Seiko5 SNK Green - was initially banished to my overflow but WC has helped me rediscover my love for this one.

Hamilton Khaki Field Auto - the classic…accept no substitutes. Best wearing watch. Find myself picking this one the most.

Nomos Club - new to me. Wearable in most settings.

Nomos Tangente - new to me. Simple and complex. Long lugs make it almost perfect.

Dan Henry 1964 Panda - Quartz chronograph to whet my appetite until I get a Speedy. But perfect in every other way except it’s not the grail.

Tissot PRX - what hasn’t been said about this one already.

Row 2 - The Specialists

Image

CasiOak - first of the GOD TIER

Tissot Visodate Heritage - Dress watch. Love the vintage vibes

Seiko Cocktail Time - My Weddings and Funeral watch. Self-explanatory.

Seiko5 SSK GMT - always on Hawaii time

Seiko King Turtle - Manta rays save the oceans

Seiko Orange Monster - SF Giants colors. Summertime baby.

Row 3 - The Crazies

Image

Timex Iron Man - I AM Iron Man

Casio Twin Sensor - Getting lost to find myself

Casio F91-w - classing it up with a Bond NATO

Timex Weekender - the Tell Tale Heart of Watches. Must be hidden away.

Swatch Sistem51 - the one that started me on this journey and y’all convinced me to keep.

Casio Royale - $20 pick up on Amazon.

Orient Mako - my first diver, very capable.

Sternglas - forgot the model, forgettable watch. Was a placeholder for the Nomos.

There you have it. 10 years of collecting. Many more to come.

Love the watches and how you have them broken down. Great diversity in your collection!

·

You have some classics in there! And I agree with keeping the Swatch, quite different from the rest of the collection. I wish I had my first, even if I didn't wear it, it's an important part of the story.

Love your collections!

Really nice collection. I really dig the 2 Nomos and Tissot watches. Thank you for gracing us with your SOTC.

Thanks, I’ve been buying watches to be as versatile as possible but going to start to look for more unique looking pieces moving ahead.

Definitely been targeting some well known pieces but looking for some more unique ones moving forward. Need some more watch boxes though.

You happened to pick out the 4 most expensive watches in my collection 🤣

Out of the 4, I’ve been wearing the PRX the most and the Visodate the least. I’ve always love Nomos and happy to finally experience having them on my wrist. Their compact and solid feel are very, Germanic, like a BMW build quality.

I’m a sucker for Glashutte Original and Nomos both solid German watches. Gotta have some Tissot to. The PRX is solid. I love mine. You called it! You have some really nice watches.

Tell Tale Heart = Timex? FREAKING brilliant quote and 💯 agree lol. I took the batteries out of mine and the wife's since I felt like I could hear them through a drawer....

PS - For true God Tier, you need a #crotchshot for @Aurelian and/or @Porthole I think? Otherwise it's not #godtier from what I understand......

.....if the somewhat convoluted horological wisdom passed down from our betters is correct...😂🤪🤘🏻🤙🏻

PSS - The F-91W is a #strapmonster no? 🫠😁 And kinda poking fun, kinda actually being honest.

Yes, the Weekender must have been the inspiration for Poe. I’ve banished it to my kid’s room. She can sleep through an earthquake.

Oh, crotch shots and behind the steering wheel shots are in the WC drinking game we’re working on. I may be trolling WRUW in the near future with them. I bow to their superior knowledge.

F-91w would be a strap monster if the original strap wasn’t such a pain in the @$$ to get off. If you zoom in, you’ll see where I gouged the top of the watch trying to get the strap off. I’m leaving the NATO on until it needs a new battery.

·

It’s a tough job but somebody’s gotta do it.

·

I assure you that it was one of my finest moments

·

Set low expectations and no one is disappointed

·

Came for the watches, stayed for the quips 🤘👌

·

Worst experience changing a strap ever ....

Zoom in on the top right of the F-91w and you’ll see the damage I inflicted on it removing the OEM strap. That was the worst ever for me.

Thank you. I hate decision fatigue so I try to simplify/categorize things for my own brain.

·

Congrats! Very nice selection...thanks for sharing!

Thank you. Just added the Nodus Duality today and moved my Cocktail Time to my overflow. I just don’t wear the Cocktail time enough to warrant saving a spot in my box. Stay tuned for my Nodus review.

Super late to the party on your post but I love your collection! I especially like the orange dial Seiko (chef's kiss on that one!), the Dan Henry chrono and the Tissot. I have been thinking about the Dan Henry 1962 or 1964 chronos. You can't beat the price for either and the quality is great too. Are you happy with yours? Any regrets whatsoever?

No regrets with the 1964. I get the 2nd most compliments on that watch (besides my PRX) and people think I’m rich 🤣😂

I can see why it gets a lot of compliments. It definitely does punch above its weight! 🎯

And btw, I love that you have your Seiko always set to Hawaii time. My whole life is set to Hawaii time and I am always thinking about my next trip there. 😎

The only drawback of the 1964 is the 19mm lug width. It looks more expensive than it is.

I just got back from the Islands not so long ago and the whole time was plotting the next time I’ll go back.

Found it! Seems like a few new entries have arrived 😉😉
